is english really a global language

how many of you think that english is the global language of this world. will russians agree with this, how about chinese in china japanese ion japan, arabs in middle east.

As far as I know, English is a globally accepted language. More like a common platform for communication between humans. But I don't think its a global language. Globalization is still a concept in writing and practical implementation is a still in its baby steps. But I do hope that English becomes the global language slowly without any politics playing part in it. The global situation is quite good now as majority of the websites on the internet are in english language by default.

Yeah i think English is the global language, nope you can't rate it through number of people.. but through transactions and such... =)
