To Write a Book

Have you ever thought about writing a book. I think about it at least 3 times a week. I have never written to Oprah or Dr. Phil, but I have to say I could have probably appeared on at least 20 of their shows, individually!!!!!!!!!! But seriously, we have all had life challenges. I often think of writing a diary. Writing a book - when I really think about it seems overwhelming at times as I tend to jump all around in thoughts of what to write about. Any thoughts?

to write a book would be a great way to document your emotions.. and the many achievements you have made in life.daily or weekly or even after years, it don't matter.what's good about writing, you are able to write down your thoughts, in a very artistic and creative way.you become productive during late hours at night, or in between coffee breaks, or during your special "my" time. for a start it may be overwhelming indeed, but none can stop a writer from jotting when that "urge" to write comes. it is true, blogging is another way to share and get feedback. and you get to meet other writers too, you exchange views and opinions. and the end result will still be your literary piece coming to life. start with a topic..any topic.if you ain't able to finish it today, maybe tomorrow or next week you would get an idea..and it goes on.

i wrote a novel already and self published it on lulu site. it is in a diary form of the main character narrating her struggles. it is similar to The Devil Wears Prada, but the story is different, and the people r very different.

Oprah or Dr. Phil? they changed your mindset? but before starting writing a book, i think you can set up a blog first, keep updating contantly, then observe the reflection on your readership, if your posting is very welcomed, i think you can sell your ebook first by using some online sell and buy system.actually, you just can let the dreams begin here --- mylot

The way i see it,i start of with writing in a blog, that way i can get feedback and continue on writing and adding material, touching up editing and all the time if there are readers, refine the material and maybe at some point, since the material is there just print it out and compile into a book if i think its worth the while..

I would love to write a book, and have been thinking about it. I'm just not sure what to write about. I went to a one-day seminar on how to write a book, but it didn't help much. I won't give up though. I'm sure one day I'll write it.

Yes, I know what you mean! I've always thought about writing books; fiction books, and everytime I try to start one, I never ever finish it. It's not because I completely gave up on it either. It's more like, I became lazy and I didn't want to continue for a little while but everytime I made the decision to take a break, I usually never go back to it. I'm also not too strong in my ability to write stories so I never really thought if I ever did become an author, I would sell many copies. But yes, for the most part, I have always thought about writing a book.

I have been dreaming and wanting to write a book. I have started writing one, but i can't finish it till now. I just hope I can allot a time to be able to accomplish it. I have journals too! But I think it is to private to be shared. SO I just keep it to myself.

I have often thought of writing one as well. But, like you I jump around. I doubt myself too much as well. What I may think is fabulous, others may be like, this is crap. LOL But I do keep a journal. I've done that since I was just a kid!

ohh... I have felt this feeling an incredible amount of times. In fact, I still might. I am somewhat of a bookworm. I read a lot, and that compels me to write also. Many thoughts, feelings, and people have inspired me to write a book. It is not irregular that you feel the same way.

If I had $1 for every time I have thought about writing a book, I wouldn't need to write one because I would be rolling in money! Seriously though, I think you are right. We all have had many challenging and interesting life events that would warrent great reading material. I often have 2 or 3 ideas going on several book ideas that I plan on writing. However, I get my ideas started but never am quite able to follow through. I have great chapter ideas and a great outline, but once I start typing, I just can never seem to get enough meat in the chapters. It seems like all that I would ever be able to acomplish is just getting one-page chapters. What a boring book, right? I keep diaries too, however, that too often proposes a problem as well. I get going and have good things to write. But then, after a few weeks, work or life gets in the way. I then miss a couple days. Days turns into weeks. Then, there goes the diary. A few months later, I want to start again. Its an insane and vicious cycle. Oh well. Maybe someday, I will acomplish the ultimate goal and finally write my book.
