i am back to dying my hair due to my born blonde started turning into a funky dark blonde light brownish/red color as i grew older.. there are so many to choose from that i just picked one by feria and it did ok. i expected more lighter results but it did do some.. i know i used to use preference i think back in the day (over 10 years ago) and nice and easy and a few other brands looked too cheap to me.. are there really any differences in results depending on brand? does one brand do less damage?

The Dollar Tree here in West Sacramento Carries boxes of hair dye for a dollar, so I just go with that when I feel like dying my hair. lol. Its cheaper, then I just condition my hair a lot and only wash it 2 or 3 times a week so my scalp can repair itself.

Just bought dollar tree hair color #3 medium brown. Everything is in the box color, activator bottle, gloves, conditioner. Shook the color and activator in the bottle. It looked a little like lumpy milk so I shook it some more. Because of the light color, I thought it wouldn't work. Applied to my hair, waited 35 minutes, washed it out, applied conditoner and wow! It really really works and looks great. I don't remember the brand name because I threw out the empty box. The only down side of this product is an ammonia smell when you apply it. If you can put up with that, you can get really great hair color for $1.

I use "Directions" because there is such a wide range of colours. the pot says it doesn't have the usual damaging chemicals For all-over colour I usually have Shcwarkopf (I'm sure I've spelled that wrong) Live XXL.

Im not sure about different brands and how much damage they do or dont do? I have used nice and easy a lot too. I think it is fairly safe and gentle. I also use Shwartzcop when it's on discount. I colour my hair dark brown. Thats because my opriginal colour was dark brown. I am now grey, nearly all white. I went grey at age 40 and almost white at age 50. Im 51 now, too young to leave it in its natural state. I choose the dark brown colour because it fits in with my skin colour.

I know Nice and Easy is supposed to do damage to your hair....but I have been using it since it came out and I love the color I get from it....I use a Champagne Blonde and it covers my gray and stays in for six weeks or so.

I like the ones from Garnier i think it is...that uses fruit extracts and smell a lot better than other dyes. I do know that some dyes fade faster than others, i used this one permanent dye and after a few of washes you couldn't even tell it was dyed anymore.

the kind i used recently had essense oil to add to it.. i felt like i was putting insense in my hair but it held off the chemical smell for a little while lol
