Languages? Do you think they're useful?

The topic pretty much says it all. Learning Languages. Do you think it's useful to subject our kids to hours of learning French, English (in my case), German, Italian, Japanese? I think it's very useful, the children can learn them faster, and it's a great way for them to introduce them to associative thinking. Tell me your opinions!
