Is My Lot Dead Today, or is My Discussion Totally Boring?

Alright, I know my discussion on what breed of pet dog to buy is not totally earth shattering, high quality, philosopical writing... But, from my previous experience, My Lotters loved their dogs and often had a wealth of info about them. So now that my daughter and I have decided to get another dog, I thought that My Lot people would not only like an easy discussion to respond to, but were likely to have good advice. That was at least 4 hours ago. No Response at all. Are dog discussions no longer in favour now? Or is My Lot dead today? I'm quite surprised!!!

I don't know, but I'm kinda getting the feeling that myLot is evolving right now, because I see a lot of gaps also! I think also maybe, the community in general has a lot on their mind, with the economy, the holidays, and the political status of this country! Me, it doesn't bother me, I just do what I do, and I don't stop to think about it, I stay pretty busy with a lot of stuff also, but occasionally, I drop by to leave a post on here, when I run into a subject that concerns me ! I do see a lot of discussions that have a tremendous amount of responses to them, and I guess that's what people are most interested in!

I found out that it is Thanksgiving in the US tomorrow, guess thats why a lot are here too, preparing for it. You could well be right about the evolving idea.

That would be great. Guess people are busy today. Someone just told me it is the American holiday tomorrow, an important day, so thats why lots of people are not here I think.

I would say that most people are enjoying their families today since it is Thanksgiving today in the US. I'm sure once everyone lets their food settle then they will be here on MyLot! I hope someone responds to your other discussion, so I would be of no help, I don't really know much when it comes to dogs!

I am suprised you didn't get a lot of responses. I know a lot of My Lotters have pets and some of the discussions I have seen are very basic. There are only a few breeds I am familiar with: beagles, airdales, and pit bulls. My brother had beagles and an airdale. My friend has a pit bull and it is very friendly. She says its all in how they were raised and I think she might be right. The airdale my brother had was huge and a little crazy. I didn't like him very much but he liked me and would always jump on me and knock me down. I don't know if they are all a little crazy or it was just him. Because of him I wouldn't recommend anyone get an airdale. The beagles were nice, but they were mainly to take hunting.

I love beagles as I used to have one with my late husband. When I suggested that breed to my daughter so she wasnt interested. Pit Bulls are too risky in Australia.

Most likely you are correct.

Pit bulls are probably dangerous anywhere. My friend has had two of them and they are very sweet and friendly. I hope it is how they were raised. On the news they keep saying how a nice pit bull turned on it's owner for no reason. The media makes everything seem worse than it is, so maybe they are just giving them a bad reputation.

First of all, I am sorry because I don't reply to your discussion thread. It just because I don't have a dog :P. Maybe if you post something about cat, I would. However, I do like pets, but I don't familiar with all of it. Do you have your dog's picture? Maybe it will bring a lot of response from dog lover.

Timing must have been off. The dog lovers must have been busy during that four hours. Maybe there was a mess to clean up, or the need to chase around the neighborhood to retrieve the darling. I don't think you write boring articles.

Thats a good point about timing. Im in Australia, and I have often thought that when I get up bright and early in the moring, far more than half the My Lot poluation is asleep. I havent thought this was a bit of a disadvantage. Im not sure of the current stats, but last I saw the northen hemisphere people made up a huge majority of My Lotters.

LOL I think most of us are busy with Thanksgiving preparations and I'm one of them! lol We're having Thanksgiving with my parents tomorrow and hubby and I are doing the cooking so we're trying to get done as much as we can so it'll be easy to put together tomorrow when we get up there. Now I did leave a comment to your discussion and with a link to a questionnaire to help you find the right pet for you. Good luck!
