So we have all noticed some people that seem to never smile or have something good to say.. they seem to always be miserable and/or upset. I think i used to have a little bit of negativity in my life.. but have changed my state of mind over time. oh it took a lot of change in my life, and a lot of effort on my part, but it is possible to be content with our lives no matter what our situation is, its really all about acceptance and the power of the mind. It's a beautiful thing.. I am overjoyed that when i wake up in the morning i have two beautiful girls looking at my every morning letting me know that "its morning time mommy"! I smile and tell them i love them and hug and kiss them all day long every day, whenever they talk to me. lol. So.. Do you smile everyday ? and if not, What would you change in your life that would make you smile, or smile more ? I'd love to find a million dollar diamond in my cornflakes!! then I would smile EVEN MORE!!! haahhha

I try to laugh every day not just smile :) Usually at work we have some or the other funny moments and I feel ok to laugh around at those moments. Similarly at home, my son provides me with enough antics to keep smiling and laughing. That does take a lot of load from your head after a hectic day. Cheers! Ram

I will not smile for no reason at all but do find things around me that deserve a smile, a new bloom in my garden, my dog eating its food well, someone visiting me, if my dish turns out well, emails from my friends - the list is endless!!!

There are a lot of people who let negativity rule their life. I think from time to time negativity seeps in and we can't control it, but it doesn't have to ruin our day. I like to smile and love to think of things that make me smile. Though I dwell on the past and really need to work on that!

I think I am blessed and that is all enough for me to smile each day. I have Jesus in my heart and that is the first and foremost thing that makes me smile each day. I have a wonderful husband, an adorable son, a real blissful family life has been given to me by the Lord. I have a good job and I am in the best state of health as well as my family. Each day is a day of thanksgiving for me. I have so much to thank God for. This space will not be really enough so I have all the reasons to smile and be happy about this life that God has given unto me. So my smiles come out of the abundant joy that comes from my heart. I count my blessings instead of my woes day by day and this made me a thankful and joyful person. That is the key to keeping the smiles on my face. I hope each one should learn to count blessings too.

That is great that you found happiness in religion. As long as you realize not everyone needs a god in their lives to feel the way you do!! Having faith, no matter what or who its in, is always an upper. It's merely the positive thinking that gets you into the positive thoughts! just like negativity is contagious so is positiveness!

Correction dear, it is not religion which is the source of my joy, it is Jesus, my Lord and my Savior. Religion can't save me but rather it is just one of the instruments whereby I could worship Christ with my fellow believers and hear the word of God too. It is my personal relationship with Jesus that did it all.

When ever she come i feel like stress is realeved to some extent. Maybe due to innocent face and fuuny things she talk i feel like that? Other than her maybe as said by you if we get a million $ diamond in cornflakes i will laugh.

hi sissygrl I do try to smile everyday even though I am not really happy exactly to be stuck here at Gold crest when I would much prefer to see my son working again and us back in an apartment somewhere.but as for right now that cannot happen until he gets a job and some money.so I have to be happy everyday because to be sad, just makes me feel bad.so smile and try mybest to be friendly and show some love and liking for other people here. Oh i would be over the moon with joy if I would find something that was worth a million dollars. happy thanksgiving to you.

Hi hatley, I am glad that you are staying positive, and At least you have the internet there!! You can connect with people all over the world.. I have walked into some group homes/hospitals/nursing homes, and just been horrified. An overwhelming feeling of complete sadness and dispair washes over me.. All those people just laying around in a hospital bed all day and night everywhere, in the halls, just zombified... Surely, especially with the elderly we could build better facilities so that they can enjoy their golden years instead of waiting to die in a bed... this is so sad.. and my discussion is supposed to be a happy one.. I hope your son finds a job and you can live together again soon!!

Heh. I thought this was going to be about that facercise thing or something. Ive been doing those sometimes I can't say I'm much for smiling but I am trying to be a more postive person and cure myself of this depression by cutting things and people out of my life that are negative. I do smile more than i use to.

hi cupkitties! That is right, you're on the road to positivity! You need to get rid of the negativeness in your life. I was able to get up and leave my old life and negativeness behind me and move away from it all.. Started a new life elsewhere. See some people say you can't run from your problems.. but some of them you can as long as your not the problem!!

Hi Sissygrl, Wow! I would very much love to find a million dollar diamond in my cornflakes, too!!! I would definitely smile and even laugh. ha ha ha ha ha ha..... I like to smile. When I am talking to others I usually have a smiling face. I smile even when I am talking on the phone or typing responses/comments here in myLot or my yahoo blog. I would like to bring happiness to others. Though sometimes I feel sad, I still would not put it on my face. I would think the matter over when I am alone. When I smile to others, others would smile back. It eases my pain. Have a nice day! :) agonyaunt69 (11:05pm 26 Nov 2009 Hong Kong time)

finding something to smile about is pretty easy!! After all.. There is air to breath, I assume most of us who use mylot have a roof over our heads, and electricity! and running water!! There are always people worse off then ourselves, and if we do something to help them, even give our time or advice which costs nothing, you feel better. Anytime I am feeling low, If i ride the public transit i always feel better about myself and my situation.. There are always a very scary population of people on the bus!! can't wait to get a car on the road!

Hi Sissygrl, you are so lucky to have two lovely girls around your life. I believe thay must give u a lot of happiness, right? I really love kids and wish have two as well. I think i can give a positive answer for your question, i like smile to people i meet. sometimes, i would like to smile to myself when i looking at the mirror. But sometimes it is hard to have a smile on ur face when you really get upset. When that comes, just tell myself everything will getting fine or let myself cry for a while, you know, just let the bad feelings come out, then you will get me simle again, to handle the troubles i cannot escape.

You do see those people who walk around being miserable trying to make others share in their misery. Wake up it's all I state of being, they have not figured out that other people don't control their life, we control our own life. It's US who decides how we feel about everything in life and it's US who decides how we react to others and all situations. Sure things in life can have you down for a bit but don't decide to wallow in it. I call it PMA, positive mental attitude, we can allow ourselves to be either positive or negative to every situation in our lives. If we decide to be negative guess what, we will have a negative outlook on life, until something comes along to change our outlook. It really is so much easier to be a positive person and to view life with joy compared to the other way around, why live in misery. Oh, and again please don't let others live your life for you letting their mood effect you. Live life to the fullest smile BE happy it is a state of being and it can be a state you can live in. Keep smiling Sissygrl, just some added info, don't just BE content with your life reach for the stars, you may never get to touch them but at least you have your head up and you hands raised and your eyes on bigger things.

Thanks sabator for sharing your wise words!! all true! It's too bad though that some people never realize it.. life really is too short to not make the best of every situation.. one life to live.. I'm so glad that some people figure all this out on their own.. I think it takes a stronger person to be positive then negative, but once you get to the positiveness, its hard to go back to negative.. At least if your stubborn!! From the age of 17 - 24ish, I suffered from depression and anxiety.. I made a huge change.. i was so unhappy with my life, my decisions i'd made(a lot of bad ones), my upbringing, I just thought my whole life was a giant disaster.. Then i started talking to my now husband online.. I knew his brother in person and hung out with him often, that's how we started to talk.. well i was living with someone who was far from ideal, because i had no other choice unless i wanted to move back home at 24.. which was not ideal for me or my parents! So hubby came down from ontario, and the night he flew in there was a snow storm worse then any other in the past 60 years. the city was shut down for a weekend, there was a curfew on all people, not allowed out past 11pm so they could clear the streets and sidewalks of the snow. so we where stuck together for the weekend, and well we've been stuck together ever since.. He stayed here for 3 months, then I just left all my stuff and life behind and moved to ontario with him.. It was hard for the first little while, being away from family, and most of my friend stopped talking to me because i just dropped everything and decided to move on a whim.. but i am SO very glad i did it.. and i am happy about who i am, and what i've done. If you dwell on the past you will never move forward. I guess that's probably an overshare.. But i am in a sharing mood, and i'm procrastinating cleaning the bathroom :P
