Today I ate nothing. Zilch, Zero, Nothing. Before haters accuse me of ranting in the disguise of contributing a discussion just be patient. Just 2 days ago, I couldnt stop eating. Every 2 hours I will be in the kitchen to fix myself a snack. Things did go through my mind like "am I really hungry?" and usually, the answer was no. I just felt like eating something. My frequent readers would know Im currently goin through a rut since the work year ended. Ive like placed myself under house arrest, even my handphone has been switched off. Im just not in the mood to do anything. Today, I woke up late after a 15 hour nap. Ok ok...more like a concussion. And I just didnt feel like eating anything at all. My stomach did complain but I just continued watchin the telly and watching my forex charts for good trade entries. Just wondering...is this normal human behaviour and have you experienced something like this before....

I reckon you did the right thing, fasting for one day like that. Obviously the other day when you "couldn't stop eating" your body was crying out for something, and so you listened to it. Today, your body was again crying our for something (a rest!) and so again, you listened to it. I think people who are in tune with their bodies are doing well. I'm still getting there! I ate nothing on Friday too (controlled, intermittent fasting has been proven NOT to slow down metabolism or lower energy levels, but to contribute to slow healthy weight loss). I fast twice a week and it's good. It doesn't harm someone to miss a couple of meals, especially if their body obviously has a good store on board to begin with :-) (as in my case). May I ask, are you overweight, underweight, or 'average'?

Well, it's really not healthy to not eat all day, and it doesn't help if you're dieting either. And it does slow down your metabolism because your body will try to conserve energy, thinking it's starving. I have gone through days like you have with eating every few hours as that's what my body wanted at that time. It's not done every day but probably once a month I go through that. But nutritionists do say that you SHOULD eat healthy snacks during the day, quite a few times. This keeps metabolism up and stops you from pigging out at mealtime. It all makes sense if you think about it. If your stomach is telling you to eat, then eat, eat something. After not eating for a while your body will go into a starvation mode, slow down, and start living off your muscle tissue. You really don't want to lose muscle now do you? If anything, have an apple, or a banana....much on vegies with dip, eat healthy snacks just to keep your metabolism up and working.

oh i would say this isn't normal at all, well not eating anything for the whole day, well i have been there but i was just lazy enough, some people do that when having a bad time, but all i can say is it isn't good, don't punish yourself unconsciously, i have been lazy enough- i guess i didn't even have water for twenty four hours, i was so lazy doing something on the computer, i don't understand what actually had happened to me... you take care..

Hmm...you look like you had no idea what had happened to you? It was a combination of laziness and not really in the mood to do anything for me. :)

Hi, d_e_v81! I can say, that I have experienced days like your, when I haven't eaten almost nothing. Almost because late in the night I am so hungry that I could eat a whole big plate with food. But I don't eat, because I am on a diet, but just because I haven't got any time to eat, during the whole day. That happens most, when I have a lot to do the whole day long, and till evening I have no time for this.

I'll feel quite awful if hungry,so every time my stomach complain i'll have something to eat or drink. One day is really long enough, how can you manage it? Will you have energy to do things? I might have a try one day to see how it really feels like...

i would like to be able to go a day without eating in the hopes of getting my appetite under control so i can lose some weight. i used to do that when i was a teen and i was much more active then too. now i find it hard to lose even one pound.

Hello d_e_v81 this is checkmail and often do have to remain on fasting some days of the year.Over here in mine country there are some traditions, where we have to go on only water and no food though out the day, it actualyl an Holy thing, workshipping of Gods. But never had purposely done that thing in recent times.Earlier when was going to college often many days i had skipped mine food but not for 24 hrs, just use to skip 1 or 2 meals in a day.Else i don't think am an fasting fan, even gota take care of mine health.
