My dream job was to be in R&D. In school I wanted to so research in Physics. In fact my friends were sure that I would be a Scientist. Being born in middle class and that too as the first born one needs to be practical. By my 6-7th Class I decided I would become a Mechanical Engineer and work on Raolway Engines. This interest came by because my father was working in the Railways and I had stayed quite close to Railroads. But in my 7th class my youngest uncle(father's youngest brother) chnaged my view encouraging me to become an Electronics and Communications Engineer. I took this seriously and ever since I heard this I started reading more of Modern Physics and by my 10th standard I bought a book on transistor electronics. Instead of buying a popular book I bought the one by the three Nobel Laureate's Shockley, Bardeen and Brattain. I went on to graduate as an Electronics Engineer. I appeared for job interviews and kept asking how I could make a research career in Electronic Engineering.I joined my present company a Power Sector major and here too I tried my best to be in R&D. But that was not to be.

OH! Vijayan, it is not me who you are seeing in the 'avatar'. It is famous Doctor Einstein, one of my role models, or should I say, object of reverence?

I wanted to become a doctor while i was a small girl attracted to their white coat and stethoscope, then after growing to a little bit, wanted to become a teacher, seeing a stick and books in their books and attracted to it, then after growing still bigger, wanted to become an air hostess atrracted by their dress and hair style. but never wanted to be a house wife which fate made me today

I think you are a bit disappointed for having become a house wife. Of course your talents and skills were not used to the society but used fully fully for your family. And society starts from the home. I am sure your skills have been very well used and will be used in future as well. So no need to worry much, cheers.

'If wishes were horses beggars would ride.' This proverb always comes to mind when I get frustrated or disappointed. I wanted many things in my life as a child, an adolescent, a young woman and now that I have well passed my prime, I look back and reminiscent on all those wonderful dreams that never materialised. Yet, I have no dissatisfaction because I have grown, matured and realised. Many of my dreams were fantasies of glory and materialism. I dreamed of a palatial residence and a life of luxury, excess, comfort and ease. But today, I have learned that what I am is destined to be. It's God's will that I live life the way I have. I have also understood that the best things in life is friendship, dignity, compassion and love. If along the way, I reap the harvest of my toil in bigger amounts, I consider that an added bonus!!! Cheers friend.

Actually, I came across it during what we used to do in school! Khari kamai - we were asked to earn and donate some monies. I joined a flower nursery. The gentleman taught me a few tricks. I loved my work there. :) I still dream of flowers planting saplings, and stuff like that. :)

To tell you the truth my dream job was working as a translator, as boring as it sounds, but I changed my mind and didn't pursue translation. However, in my previous job I would have to make many translations, even if it wasn't exactly part of my tasks, so you can say that I half accomplissed my former dream

My dream job , I mean the real dream job not the daydream job is to become a licensed chemist and to work in a research institute in Switzerland. The one included on the movie Angels and Demons. They are studying about matter. Even if I will just be an assistant there I will accept the job because there are so many things i will learn in that place. And I can also enhance my degree and the experience is so big compare to my experience here and in my school.
