Hello dear myLotters. Everybody here are looking forward to Christmas and New Year festivals. Even little kids are getting so excited hearing partents, brothers and sisters talking about the festivals. Every country and culture has traditional festival times. I was in Thailand once just at the Water Festval and New Year time. It was so wonderful to see people taking part and having a happy time every where. What times do you have festivals in your city ? Do you take part in the festivals ?

Hi, greenline! We have many festivals in our county. We have the Iris Festival which is in the springtime. We have an Thanksgiving and Christmas Parade, both in November and December. We also have The Lights Before Christmas at The Swan Lake Gardens a month before Christmas. We have an October Fest at the park where you can walk at. We have an Jamboree during the football season which is in October. We have the county fair in September, which lasts only a week. And we also have an carnival in July at the Dillon park.

We have a festival at the end of September which is suppose to be our October festival. I have gone to it once in a while but not every year. We do have a few other festivals during the year but by the time I hear about it is to late.

I'm the type to take part in festivals when they're not Christmas related. Christmas is very boring for me. But other kind of local festivals are always funny, and they always mean lots of local fun, music and lots of people! Also is nice to go to festival in different places, as each place has something different you might not have seen before.

Well, we have a lot of festivals but I'm not really into it. But I loved watching the celebrations like dancing, different activities, games, etc...Once I joined this contests but was only forced to, I quite enjoyed it but not all, I enjoyed when we went to an orphanage for the mentally challenged and it really touched me.

The main event that we have in my area is the Santa Clause parade. My kids are young and they do enjoy this. Its a large parade with side activities such as vendors, displays, and a play area for the kids. It's one of the highlights of the Christmas season for us.

There is going to be a Christmas festival or two here in the next few weeks, I do enjoy taking the kids to these types of festivals and often look for where they will be. We have harvest festivals here in the summer/fall and they are a lot of fun. I like them the best because the weather is nice. These festivals coming up will be very cold..lol.

In our place we usually celebrate fiesta every December 8 in honor of Virgin Mary the Immaculate Conception. We prepare foods at home and invite friends from other places. We have beauty contests and a sports competition to highlight the celebration. In the month of May we have a Mayflower Festival, young ladies from our place parade in gowns with their escorts on the feast day and a party is held at night. Ever since, our family actively participates in festivities like these.

We don't really have FestiVALS in Sacramento but we do have some FestiVITIES. I don't really partake in them though. I am family oriented and spend the holidays with THEM. Plus, I am poor so I can't afford to do much.

We have a parade every December here in Jasper but I forget what Tuesday Night it is in December. I participated one year and I really enjoyed it. The therapeutic riding center where I volunteer had a truck in it that we decorated and I rode on it. We didn't participate last year because the executive director had been sick. I don't know if we'll participate or not this year. I haven't heard anything yet. Our director said one time that she didn't like to do parades and I guess it will be up to her. Kathy.
