The most differences between ipod touch and iphone are phone call and camera. So can we use ipod touch to make a call or send sms? I think there should be some funchtions for us to connect each other (maybe by internet or something else). How do you think?

Yes! If you have a WiFi network in your home, you can install Skype, to make calls. Other apps can do it. Search for "voip" in iTunes App Store to use other solutions. :)

Indeed, you are correct. Calling via Skype is a possibility on the iPod touch, as is Whatsapp Messenger. You can import contacts in your iPod touch and make Skype calls with any of your Skype contacts. Ofcourse the other person must have Skype as well, but that speaks for itself. Try googling on this matter, I'm pretty sure you will find an answer!

If you use MSN, YM or other special software, I think you can afford it. Even there is a provider provide phone call service with very cheap price.

Maybe there are applications that will do that. Is there a Skype for iPod Touch? But either way, it will be rather troublesome to sms or make a call with iPod. It is much more convenient to use it with a phone.

I don't think Apple would ever produce anything to make an Ipod an Iphone and vice versa because it means lower earnings.kinda pointless. but since a lot of people, aside from you, really want that to happen, there is this thing called Jailbreak which gives your Ipod Touch the functions of an iphone. I don't really know the details of it but from what I know, it is used to convert an ipod touch to an iphone which means people won't need to purchase an iphone anymore when tey already have an ipod touch or they don't need to spend as much anymore and just buy ipod touch instead of iphone. very clever people. :D

Yeah..I agree with ur opinion..Recently I just heard there are some applications can make ipod touch to connect nearby people in some certain limited area for free and no other exchange fee... If this kind of application can become popular, the ipod touch can become more valuable...hah
