To date I have never truely come across "free" Anti-Virus software. I had been advised by a friend to download AVG, and she's stated that she can use it for free. But, when I went to look for it, I saw free trail. Quite frankly I don't see how anti-virus softwhere can be free truely free. And if such existed then there has to be a catch.

Yes,and now many free version of antivirus software, the effect is still good, there is no need spend money to buy,it is entirely possible to protect our computer security, unless you visit a number of illegal sites with virus.

Anti-virus software applications are a must for any computing system because till today ther is no computer in the world that have run smoothly without good anti-virus backup and strong firewall protection specially on the internet. Ya, the free anti-viruses available on the net are modest in their action but one should not necessarily depend on them because they are not full-proof. To be totally safe about your computer better install a good internet firewall and strong anti-virus bought from the market.

It's nice to have a free antivirus but remember it has limited features over those antivirus that comes with a license. For me I always prefer to have a license antivirus since it offers additional security features such as upto date virus definition, firewall security and other network security features.

I am using Avast Home Edition.Haven't had any problems, and it doesn't slow down your computer. But,if you see in terms of popularity,AVG will be at the top.

There are so many free anti-virus with lots of features but i really liked Microsoft Security Essentials. Its a free anti-virus from Microsoft and i've been using this for a long time and really liked it. They are offering this free to the people who own a genuine copy of Windows no matter which edition. It run in XP/Vista/7 both 32 and 64 bit(not for Windows 98). One more advantage,it can be installed on a system which already have another anti-virus.It didn't hinder its working nor create any problem. I'm using it with Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 without any problem.

Am using nod32. It is not free, but It is always possible to get something for you, when you own a pc and internet connection. Nod32 is also user friendly, both manual and auto update is possible. I have used avg for 1 year, but I find nod32 detecting and deleting viruses and worms much easier than norton or avg. When avg released version 8, the product was consuming more cpu time, which forced me to quit and move to something faster like nod32. Get the latest torrent version and use it.

AVG is the best anti virus that Ive used, if your lucky you can search for a free key pin for avg, like mine is going to expire on Feb 18 2018 which is good, it blocks any kind of virus.ive used norton 360 its good but it makes my system really slow and it will only last for a year. so why bother spending money when you can get it for free.
