When I am going to the nearest shop to buy vegetables, milk etc., I will just apply little face powder, comb my hair and go. What do you do? Do you apply full make-up or simple one?

Hi Aunty, When i am at home i always comb my comb my hairs and apply face cream and i keep bindi. Suppose if i will have to go out near by my home then i dont put make up. Suppose if i am going far to get anything then i get freshed up and aplly a lipstick and go. Thank for your discussion. Have a great day.

Hi Buchi, In my place vegetable/fruits market and shops is near to our home and there is no need of applying any make up or getting ready to go for shopping, I may go just like I am at home. Actually I am not much on make ups, prefer to be simple always.

Big make up is not required for nearby shops. But I will just apply little powder and comb my hair and put a clip.

Hi Buchi, I won't apply make up for sure if just going to the nearest grocery to buy the items which we need urgently like flour, soy sauce, etc. But this rarely happens to me. The grocery is very near to my house and I can reach there within a minute on foot. I even go there in my casual wear, t-shirt and short as no one has any interest on what I'm wearing at all, for I just pass by few houses on either sides of the way. In case there are someones outside the houses, they are all neighbors I am familiar with Most of the time I like to visit the nearby hypermarket to buy daily necessities. It's so enjoyable to hang around in environment with comfortable air con. There I might meet lots of people so I usually will put on jeans and a decent t-shirt. But I still do not apply any make up like lipstick or beautifying blush or to pencil in eyebrows. I would apply some loose powder on my face sometimes Happy posting

You are like me. I too unnecessarily will not put make up for nearby places. Just some powder and comb my hair and put a hair clip.

I’m not beautiful. And I don’t think I will look more attractive if wearing make-up. Therefore I prefer to be more comfortable without any cosmetic. It’s quite time consuming to wear and to clean them as well. One of my former colleagues dares not go out without putting on any cosmetic. What a pity! She has no confidence to show her plain appearance to others.

I strongly object for the first line. You have a majestic look on your face coupled with a friendliness. That is what made me look at your photo twice and form a friendship with you. Beauty need not be beautiful eyes, nose etc. Even the appearance gives beauty to us. Well I too do not apply much make up. I just apply little powder and comb my hair and put a clip. My skin is oily type. Hence I have to do this to be presentable. Otherwise people will think that I came to the shop straight after getting up from the bed. Have a nice day.

I wear make-up when going out, but if I'm just going to a nearby store, I don't normally put anything on my face. I'll check myself on the mirror and comb my hair if I need to and then off I go.

That is what is advisable. At least we must be presentable. I too apply little powder and comb my hair and put a clip.

I do not apply any make up. Generally when I am at home I will comb my hair and put one clip and after taking bath, I will put my bindi. That is all about my make up and I will go to the nearby shop like that only. If necessary, I will change my saree or if the saree is good, then I will go with that saree only.

Wo'nt you apply little powder also vathsala20? That means you may not be needing it. But I feel my face is looking oily. That is why I apply powder.

No. I won't appy any powder. if I am going to any far off place, or to attend any function, then only I apply powder, otherwise, simply after taking my bath, i put little vermilon, one hair clip that is all.

No, I do not apply or re-apply makeup especially in order to go to the supermarket, but sometimes I am already wearing makeup when I go of course. But I think it is important that you do not let makeup get in the way of the way you live your life, it shouldn't be a must that you absolutely have to wear makeup whenever you leave the house!

I don't wear makeup at all, so I wouldn't wear it for just a little trip to the groccery store. I don't understand why wnyone would think they need to. Why is anyone so worried about what people think, that they would think they need to wear makeup to a groccery store? That's just nuts, in my view.

It is not that danishcanadian, our face may be a bit dull and hair may be not properly set. Especially when we are doing some work at home, we cannot just go out like that. Some are always fresh and it is ok for them. But some people have to apply little powder or cream and comb hair, so that the dullness will go.

I hardly ever wear makeup when I go out anywhere. I wear it maybe a couple times a year and that is about it. I just do not like to wear it or how it looks on me either. I think I look better without it.

I don't ever wear makeup unless I'm going to go somewhere nice for the evening with my guy or unless I have to be seen by someone important. Other than that, it's pretty much a "what you see is what you get" type of look. I'm clean, my clothes are clean, and my hair is pulled back. I guess I'm lucky because I have a fairly good complexion, but I do look better with makeup. I guess it's just a choice that's based on how comfortable a person is with themselves. I don't really feel like I have to impress anyone because it's not like I'm out looking for a husband or anything - I already have a family at home. However, when looks matter, I can certainly rise to the occasion.

As you said, some people are as it is ok, more so when they have good complexion too. But others may require little touch up and combing of hair to be presentable. Your last line looks matter....rise to the occasion, impressed me a lot. I read it twice. It is nicely put up.

I think that it is a good habit to make one look better before going somewhere for something. I try to make myself look nicer than I stay home. But I don't use make-up. lol.

Very true. We must be presentable. My neighbour lady was going to collect milk packets straight from the bed, i.e. not even setting the hair properly. Though it is inside our quarters compound, people were commenting on her. At least she could have adjusted her hair is it not? Anyway to the nearby shop, I apply little powder and comb my hair and put a clip.

I usually dont go to buy things like that , but what I do is that I cover myself more. I usually have a list of things in my mind like what I want to buy and from where, how much etc. So it hardly takes me long. Besides there are so many males standing there that it doesnt look nice by applying make up etc. It usually draw more attention.

Very true. Much make up will draw attention. But for some people who have oily skin, they have to apply little powder or cream and have to comb hair. Then only they will be presentable. But some lucky ones will look ok as it is.

It depends. If I'm having one of those days I'm not feeling so great about myself, I will put on some make to feel more confident, but usually I do not apply make-up if I am only going to be running errands.

If the avatar photo is yours, then you do not require any make up friend. You are as it is fresh looking.

Yes Neelima, mostly for nearby places many may not put heavy make up. But some people are very beauty conscious and put some extra quote.

I'm like you, I just powder my face a little. But I will say that it's very important that my hair looks good. I'm just sayin'. If I'm having a bad hair day I won't be seen outside.

Why you think so gtargirl, with combed hair the beauty is one type and without combing, leaving loose will give another beauty to the hair. If you take head bath, the beauty is different, if you oil your hair then it is entirely different one.

hi buchi_bulla, Most of the time I don't wear any make-up, I don't even put some powder on...haha! I'll just step out of my door house without even combing my hair! haha! so true! I am not really concern about my looks as long as I am tidy and presentable enough meaning I wear clean clothes and I don't have any dirt on my face/body...I'm all good! hehe! Since the shop in buying grocery item is so near, it was like two blocks away..I don't need to beautify myself. I'm just a very simple gal. Happy Lotting!

May be without makeup itself you are presentable. But I do not want to frighten anyone. So little make up is for others' safety.

Even when I am at home I apply lipstick more to keep my lips moist and so apart from what you are doing there would be lipstick on my lips!

That gives good look. I do not have patience to apply lipstick when I am at home.
