Do you have the habit of switching off your mobile phones/cell phones when you are about to sleep? or do you switch it "On" and leave it in a different room so that you dont miss any call or message? or do you have it next to yourself? Personally, I switch off most of the times. In case, I feel I may receive any important message typically before exams, I switch it on and have it by my side. 2 reasons: One I may get some important message and the other reason I make use of my mobile as an ALARM. So, How about you? Is it necessary to switch On and have it by your side and give it a break by switching OFF?

Tell you the true, I have to keep my mobile always on 24hrs a day, Due to my job's requirement. in my company, there are some stuffs on duty 24hrs at day, 7 days a week, If there is some emergency happening on site, They will report to me immediatelly, if I switch my mobile off, they can't get me, they will call to my boss, and I will get the punishment. I thinks somebody who should have to keep their mobile always on like me, just because the work or the situation let you have to do like that.

Hmmm..., I keep my mobile phone always on. Because I don't have land line at my house. So any imp. call come to my mobile, and also I keep my mobile beside my bed, for the morning alarm. But I feel very bad when I am in deep sleep, and my mobile is ringing, feel like to kill calling person.

Since there are many scam calls everyday, therefore, my cellphone will be turned off automatically at 11pm every night. So I won't be bothered by these calls or SMS. It is quite annoying to receive it in the midnight. I love China

My cellphone is usually switched on all the time, unless it gets low in battery, or hanged. I have never tried turning my cellphone off during night times. I just keep it off because I am always thinking cellphone would be the best to keep in touch in case there are emergencies, or important messages needed to be relay. So I just keep it switch on 24/7.

Hi, I usually never switch my cell phone unless there is no battery. Even during the night time, I keep it ON and is always with me, as someone might want to get in touch with me during urgency and what if my cell is switched off. So I prefer not to switch off my cell phone anytime. Ofcourse I keep it on silent mode when I am in office. Mobile phone can be used as alarm as well and I used it most of time to wakeup early and also I use remainders for my important tasks so that I don't miss them in the busy schedules.

I heard that even if you switch off your mobile phone , it is still transmitting wave of signal (GSM) So it is better for you to take out the batteries , if you gonna switch it off.

I tend to switch off my phone at night because some of my friends, for some weird reason, might send me messages or call me at 3 or 4 in the night. I love them, but in those moments I would like to kill them, so I decided that for the safety of everyone is better to keep my phone turned off when I sleep

I didnt have a mobile for ages because I felt like it was an invasion of my privacy! I turn it off most of the time unless I'm waiting for someone to call that's what the answer service is for! A good thing to put on your mobile is a contact number saved as "ICE" - "in case of emergency" because if you ever happen to lose it or are in an accident the emergency services can immediately find your next of kin or prefered contact in that situation. big hugs ducatirose

Rakesh, I never switched off my mobile in the past 6 -7years.. in day times i used to have my mob with me and when i go to sleep, i put it in silent mode and keep it in other room so i don't get disturbed while sleeping as well as i don't miss any call and i can keep track on it.. only few days i keep it in loud when im expecting calls in night times... if you want to use your mobile as an alarm it is not necessary to have it switched on because once you set your alarm and switch off your mobile.. still it works.. try it. many mobiles have this feature(alarm working even when mobile is switched off).. and a small tip to you my friend- don't keep your mobile close to you when your sleeping..

Yes I used to switch off my mobile at night and once I wake up I used to switch it back on. Nowadays my friends return home late, so I cant surely tell at what time they will call. So I keep the mobile on and sleep. There are some days, when you know somebody will call, but dont want to be disturbed, during those time, I will switch off my mobile and sleep. For example during the previous night of my birthday, I will switch off my mobile phone.

Switching off your cellphone is a good habit, because sometimes cellphone can cause fire and radiation in the room...

I keep mine on during the week because I use as an alarm. On the weekends its notas important to have it on. I dont turn it off to save its energy. I just wont check to make sure that its on unless I need the alarm, or one of my kids are not home so I need to make sure I am available.

I always keep my mobile on when I sleep. The main reason being that like you I too use my mobile as an alarm. And besides I do not know when someone would need to contact me in an emergency.

My phone is never off. When I go to bed I have it under my pillow and it acts as an alarm for me, although I still have to hit that snooze button a few times ;) But I hate it when I get awoken by a call, but would rather be woken by it as it could be something important! Lee.

Hi rakesh_07 Oh, now that you mentioned it, I feel so cruel to my mobile phone. Honestly, I never turn it off! I have it next to my pillow, because I set the alarm to wake me up in the morning..so when the alarm ring, I can switch the alarm from my phone easily. And who knows maybe there will be an important or emergency call? On the contrary, my parents hate phone calls in the middle of the night, so they always switch the phone (home phone and also cell phone) off when it is time to bed. Once my cell phone hang, and I don't know what to do. My boyfriend suggest me to switch it off first, but I say "I have done it". I forget that I never switch off my phone. I realize it then switch my phone off. I was hopeless, then turn on my cellphone 1 hour after switch it off. And WAW! my phone back to normal. Now I try to switch it off for about 1 hour or so in a day

My cell phone is on round the clock. I can't switch it off. I haven't even think about switching it off while I sleep.
