Hello. Many of my friends have been saying that mall walking helps physical and mental health. What do you think about it ? It certainly gets the walking exercise. And, I suppose while looking around at different things in the mall, one gets the relaxation of the mind too. Do you some times go mall walking too ? Have a nice time.

Hi greenline. Is that true? Well, if it is, I have the advantage for that because I usually go to the mall with my siblings and do some window shopping. We love hanging out in there. Luckily it's only a walking distance from our house and we are always able to go there. And now that I discovered that it can help, maybe I should do it more.. Thanks for this discussion!

Hi. You are very fortunate that you are living within a walking distance to the mall. So, you can enjoy hanging out there in the mall and enjoy the attractions in the mall.

Mall walking is better than not walking at all, so if that's what it takes, then it's good. I would rather walk outside, though... or even in my house. I don't enjoy all the people at the mall and I don't window shop often. If someone does, though, it would be a good way to get exercise.

I suppose people do mall walking once in a while, as a way of spending the spare time they have, to be relieved of boredom from just staying at home. So can go around , do window shopping, and get refreshed, physically and mentally.

Do you mean instead of taking your power walk outside you walk inside the mall? Or do you mean window shopping? I don't power walk.I'm lucky I guess,I do a lot of walking during work. I love window shopping though.I could and have spent an hour in a mall just walking around.

Hello Sarah. Nice to see you. Well, people enjoy window shopping in the malls once in a while, and as they do that, they get to stroll around in the mall. That gives them the excersize at the same time while spending the spare time.

They do say that walking 10 minutes a day non stop will help with your physical well being, that is easy to do in a large mall. The problem in most malls though is that either I window shop which means walk a few paces stop and look maybe go inside and repeat, or it is extremely full and walking is limited. I prefer closed malls in winter as the lights compensate for the shorter days. What I do though is where possible always use the stairs, the problem is most places have either lifts or escalators.

Oh yes, there are different ways one can spend the spare time walking around in the mall. Yes, especially in the winter time, with the weather too cold outside, one can enjoy a walk in closed malls.

I have never been mall walking before but there are a lot of people here that do it. I think it's a great alternative in the winter time here. People can continue their regiment even though it's freezing outside.

Hello Jen. Nice to see you. No mall walking ? I suppose you have other preferred ways to have the physical excersize and mental relaxation. Right, it is good for the winter time, to keep warm and find the ways for relaxation while it is freezing outside !

Oh yeah normally I love walking around the mall, even if i don't really have money to spend. It is fun going into all of the stores, especially the obscure ones, or the beauty/bath ones to try out samples, and just have fun while killing time. Today was the only day ever that I cringed at the thought of walking through the mall, my parents wanted the food court for dinner, but with my shingles being on my leg, I hate walking because its painful. So I had to pass and I just made my own dinner at home while they were out walking at the mall, I saved myself a lot of discomfort.

Oh I see. Yes, walking around the mall is in many ways very enjoyable and relaxing. Certainly good for elderly people too, since they can have the ways they like to relax. Food courts in the malls do also serve very delicious meals.

Hello Sweetie. How are you ? Spending time in shopping malls is a good way for the family to enjoy together. Children would be so excited too when they see the items which they just love to have !!

Hello. Yes, of course, depending on own's conditions, one has to choose the appropriate way to do physical exercizes. That certainly makes sense, indeed.

Yes, I sometimes go to our local mall here in Jasper to walk. I haven't done it in a while but I need to get started back. When the days were warmer, I walked outside around my house a lot and it dawned on me a few days ago that I need to start going to the mall to walk again. I especially like to go around christmastime. I remember one year, they played christmas music over the intercom and that made my walk more enjoyable. I think the mall is a good place to walk when it's too cold, too hot, or raining outside. Kathy.

Hello. Nice to see you. Yes, it is a good way to stroll around in the mall to get some physical excersize, especially when the weather outside is a bit too cold. Oh yeah, the mall can be crowded and even jam-packed on Friday nights ! The food court would be full too !

I don't care to go to the mall on Friday nights, though. It's just too crowded then and way too many teenagers are all over the place. Kathy.
