I heard this topic in the radio this morning and it got me interested. It's not that i want to but what if it happens? So i started looking at all my 10 fingers and tested each and everyone and see which is the most important one to me. Other would say the ring finger probably for the women. But for me its the thumb. If you lose your thumb the rest of your fingers are almost totally helpless. What do you think is yours?

what an interesting question ybong007! but you're right, without our thunb the four fingers left are helpless. you can lose one of the four but definitely not the thumb.

Yes, just imagine how could you use a cellphone if you don't have a thumb. the rest of the finger are totally helpless. Actually the DJ on the radio said that there was a case where the thumb of a foot was cut and placed on the hand and it functioned just the same. Although it could looked shorter. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

Oh that is hard!!! I don't want to lose any of my fingers... Oh I don't want to even think about it... So what is the topic in the radio all about? Why do you need to choose which???

Ah okay! Well all the fingers have their own usefulness... but for the sake of answering your topic, I think I would rather choose losing baby finger... For I think among them all that has the less usefulness...

I heard it over 89.9 fm on Mo twister's morning show. The show was about which finger is the least important. It basically is just for fun topic but if think closely there's always that possibility of losing finger if one is not careful enough. So it got me thinking which is i would prioritize. And the thumb is the most important. Just imagine how the cellphone would evolve if everyone doesn't have a thumb. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

I could lose my ring finger as it is most useless to me. I can put my ring on any other finger anyway.

Yeah no question about the disconcerting feeling when you lose one feeling. It would surely be an effort to keep everyone from noticing it. It's just a thought anyway. So we have to take care of those fingers. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

it's the ring finger. I heard from one of my friends that Japanese Yakuzas cut off the pinky as punishment, I don't know if its true. So the first thing i look at at Japanese people are the fingers, if ever i saw one missing then chances are that person is a member of the gang . But i have yet to see one . Thanks for sharing. Probably my middle finger so I could never give the finger to anyone I am pissed at. ha!ha! just kidding. I've never really given it much thought there was a movie I was watching not too long ago called MALICE and a doctor and another man were in a bar and the doctor asked him would he give one of his fingers for a million dollar's and a pause of silence then agreed they would not. Honestly if I had to give up a finger it would be the pinkie it's the smallest and it would be on the left hand. I really hope that we are never are faced with a situation like that.

Yes the pinky is the easiest one to let go. Not only is it the least useful but i think the least painful too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. But like everyone else, i hope we will not come to that. Cheers!

I could live without my middle finger..................and I'm sure a lot of people I know would be glad to see me lose it too, so I couldn't flip them the bird anymore when they annoyed me! LOL

I think this world would be a better place if god will take away all our middle fingers. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

I would never want to lose a finger. And yes for me it's also the thumb that's important. Hmmm... I think the pinkie, although of course I hope I don't lose it. The thing is I rarely use it on most of my activities.

So majority says, its the pinky. . Less useful except for picking noses and less painful too when cut off. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

I can't bear to loose any of my finger. I think I would prefer to loose my pinky. I think it's the least important. But hey!, pinky finger is also helpful in picking up tiny things (such as the nose), lol! You know what I mean. Aside from that, I don't have any idea what pinkies can do.

I agree, our pinky is the least important. Even if it got cut off, i still have my index finger to take its place to pick my nose . Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

How about the ring finger for men? So that when women ask for commitment, they can always say no, because there is no finger to keep the ring. Symbolically, I mean. Come to think of it, is there any use for the ring finger? I think the ring is kept there just to remind people that that finger exists.

You got a point there. This will work for the malingering husband because he will no longer have to take off the ring in case he mets a hot & sexy chick . Thanks for your thoughts. Cheers!

all the fingers are important without even any one it will be difficult to do many things and i think thumb and fore finger is more important infact i agree with you that thumb is the dam base for all the finger for writing ,lifting what ever be the work we do without thumb we wont have the grip to handle things ...typing is possible without thumb :)

Yes you can type even without your thumb if you're using a computer. But i don't think you can type on a cellphone if you don't have your thumb. I tried to visualize it and it's impossible unless you use both hands. Thanks for your thoughts. Cheers!

If I were to lose a finger, I'd probably lose one of the middle ones. I flip people off too much, so I guess it would be punishment or fate to loose one, lol! w

Your the second person to choose to let go of their middle finger because of the things it can do . It would be considered an accident if you lose one but y ou could consider it as punishment if you lose both. God forbid . Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

HI Ybong007! Hmmmm... If ever I lose my finger (hopefully I wont) I would consider losing my baby finger. I think I can do almost all the things I do even though I dont have ring finger but I dont want to lose my thumb, index and middle and most of all my ring finger. :)

I think the baby finger is the least useful. Yakuzas even cut it off . I'm not sure if it's true but according to some friends, Yakuzas will cut off their pinkie if they get caught doing mischiefs. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

i think the small finger it have not help too much compare to the thumb which need all the time. Thumb need for grip and control it is a good for use in over all work.

Yes the pinky is the least important except for picking your nose. The rest of the fingers is almost totally helpless if you take away the thumb. I wonder thought what would happen to an individual if he loses both thumbs because when that happens how can he affix he's thumb print ? Thanks for dropping by. Cheers!
