You know when you get a bright idea like changing things around in the house and you start the job,but wish you had not.I have moved shelves, freezers as well as wine in my shed as i want to make it easier for me to get to things as well as free up some room.I wish i had not started as there is me doing the shed while all the normal jobs like the washing and tidying up got put behind.

I have done things like this also. I always take on more than I can handle. I started painting inside the whole house this year. I still have the ceilings to finish when the new year gets here. I work seven days a week also.

I know and do you think that more things you do the more things you find to do as well.I tend to go through spats where as i want to clear all the cupboards out and then do a bit of clearing out in the back yard and before you know it you are doing the front yard and then seem to be behind with the other normal every day chores.

I know the feeling about this one all too well. We just moved into our house a few months ago and now I am not liking the way that we have the furniture set up. I want to move it around but there is far too much normal housework that has to be done. When I decide to undertake a project, I completely focus on that job and then don't worry at all about the other things that need to be done in the house. I tend to develop a sort of tunnel vision. That is why I've decided that I am not going to take part in any projects until I get the general housework caught up and ahead in the house.

I think it is hard enough trying to keep up with the normal house work and that is without anything else need doing. What with it being Christmas as well i am trying to do as much as i can to stay on top of the house work as well as dropping gifts off.I find that there are only so many hours in a day and i need alot more hours then there are now.

Yeah, I've done that before. Bitten off more than I can chew! The worst part about it is that you can't go back. You have to see the job through. The best part about it is that when you get done you will feel soooooo good about having done it. Take care! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

I have done that many times. I will wake up in the morning all motivated to clean the kitchen cupboards or something like that only to start, have everything everywhere, get half way through and feel completely fed up with a wish I never started the job in the first place! It is refreshing to hear that it happens to other people too; I thought it was just me! I think it is a good idea to think carefully before starting big jobs that will take ages to complete!

Oh my. I have had what I thought were brilliant ideas for projects and then discovered they were more trouble than they were worth. I seem to start something and in the middle discover that there is more to do and I cant stop where I thought I could and I get more and more involved. Then I get annoyed by the extra work I caused myself.

I'm a great starter but not such a good finisher. I love to start new projects but the idea starts to fade and I find myself just working at a problem instead of making things better for myself. I guess you could set a time to work on the stuff you want so the stuff you need to get done doesn't suffer.

Well, my dear you just have schedule better. If you plan to spend say half a day in your shed straightening thing around then you need to spend that previous day or evening catching up on other things so you have that done and can do something else without feeling you are taking time away from other things.

I have done this to I start cleaning out a closet and then have to take what I am given away to good will. After doing all the extra cleaning of closet, shelves I do not have much time to keep up with the regular housework. I will stop cleaning the shelves, closet and take time to do the regular housework and then go back to closet and shelves cleaning.

I know what you mean. We have started a number of jobs in garden and what you think is a simple quick job turns into a mission to get finished. Then all the other stuff piles up like ironing, weeding and cleaning as you spend so much time on the new job. Its never ending sometimes trying to keep on top of everything.

I think the idea is a good one to move or do changes in your house settings, though it takes lots of hard work and may interrupt our work a bit, but at the end if everything goes well you will get the feeling of happiness and this helps in refreshing your mind too. Going to mall or doing daily chores are things that you have already done many times in your life, it is not so challenging or refreshing as that of doing some creative work in your living room or your bathroom.

Oh how many times have I done this? I love to change furniture around and make the rooms look different. Many times I would start and realize how much work is involved and then wish I hadn't started. I would start saying what ws I thinking in starting this now.

ah, either let the daily jobs go and get the extra stuff done, or do the regular stuff and forget the other. Happens to me all the time and only doubles my work load. Strange how junk accumulates huh??

I am so with you on this one. I started moving things around in the house on a day off from work and what I really should have done is gone to the mall or something. I ended up painting a bathroom and the rest of the house looked like a disaster zone. I mean seriously what was I thinking when I started my little project of just moving things around. The upside is a had a very lovely bathroom. So, your not alone.
