Do you think that this could happen in the future? Real people being in survival games?

I do not think we will be alive to see such technology even if there comes one. But I am optimistic that most of the sci-fi things that are shown in the movies will be made in reality at some point of time.

What about survival games, but everything is real. And no one controls them. But they broadcast there game of survival everywhere for entertainment?

Even if such a thing comes up, I believe it will be labeled as illegal. Almost every country consider playing with the lives of other people as illegal. Survival games can become reality but their application will probably be curbed down.

Playing survival games with live living people is like gladiatorial fights during ancient Roman times when Christians were persecuted and thrown in to the collesseum to fight for their lives. These were considered ancient Romans past time. I guess in future it will be done on a different platform maybe like in Gamers.

I haven't seen this movie yet (but I want too) so I don't really know any specifics...but I really hope we never get so bad that we would do things like that to people (even criminals who have a chance to get out of jail...). No matter how you look at it, it's allowing people to die (killing people) for entertainment...and legalizing it! and I have to say, no, I really don't think that the world as a whole will ever get that bad.

That is a good point, but no I don't think that could happen again...people were so barbaric back then....I really don't think (and hope even more) we won't get that bad again.

Yes definitely, as a whole the world might not get that bad but check this out Capable of seating 50,000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. As well as the gladiatorial games, other public spectacles, such as Mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and of course the all the Christian martyrs. So, if it already has happened in our world history, do you think it could happen again but this time to a greater extent?

That is another way of looking into it. We are always playing, sometimes according to the rules, sometimes breaking them.

The movie was superb! But I really doubt this can happen in the near future. I know the world is going insane but there still exists humanity. We realize that we are humans first and businessmen later on. Our basic needs are more important than our monetary needs. And by basic needs I mean emotional and physical needs. I feel its very wrong using people the way they have been used in Gamer. Controlling a person's freedom, actions with life on the stake is a type of slavery and slavery has been globally banned.

Anything is possible , I think this very possible in the future , that is if the world does not end in 2012.

Gamer is a very advanced film indeed. I enjoyed watching it and lots of ideas came to my mind about the future gaming. However, the idea of REAL people being in survival games and being controlled by other real people just does not do it. It simply cannot become true. Maybe if we can, we can do full accurate 3d models of us and our actions being controlled online by motion sensors, that I think might be possible in the nearer future. You must keep in mind that this is just a film and was produced only for entertainment purposes.
