Style discovery, how did you discover your style?

I've been clicking on anything I'm interested in on Etsy. com and it seems my style runs as follows: Steampunk, Gothic Lolita, and Zigfield. I'm in my 50s, too young for the last one (and probably too old for the first two), but I do know what the last one means. Zigfield Follies were really, really cool. Now about the other two, I think I need an explanation. Not that I can afford anything, but if I could. . .. Currently, I'm discovering my style by what interests me online. But when I was in my teens, I discovered my style through discussions during Home Economics and by trying on different clothing in front of mirrors in department stores. So how did or are you discovering your style? Is your style changing or has it remained the same? Is the current economy messing with your style? It is mine. I'm having a rough time finding matching clothes at the Second Hand shops. Of course, my gaining weight hasn't helped things either. The stuff I really like is back in the sizes I used to be.

My style is pretty much the same as it was 5-8 years ago, and i maintain it like that as most people tell me i look great in it. Im in the style towards the classic/business alike area, maybe a little conservative, though with some nice colors to chear it up. This maybe are related to what i want to acchieve with my life when we relate it to work and business, im going for the career if possible ;)

Excellent! Sounds like it is perfict for you. I have clothes in those categories for work and they do work for me,too. But these other styles, they are more my muse styles. I actually had many styles when I was younger, the dancing out on the town style was one, the goofy fun one (stuff I would never wear outside the house). And so on.

Ahh yes, i do have more relaxed clothing when im just around at home, and i do also have some party clothings from back when i was working as a bartender, so work clothings i guess they could be classified.

Glad to hear you have at least three styles. One does not live by classy business suits alone!

well i think it takes time to develop your sense of style. actually i heard on the radio today that fashion comes and goes but style always stays and one expresses themselves through their style. my style is artsy/bohemian but i do love jackets and wear them to work all the time but my jewellry mirrors my style.

That sounds neat. I like jackets and in cooler and cold weather up here, it's either those or sweaters.
