Hurricane or tornado? Which is worse?

I live in hurricane country and they absolutely suck. Never been thru a tornado though. At least you know a hurricane is coming.

I'd say hurricanes are worse as they have a wider area of destruction but tornadoes can be just as devastating depending on if the area is flat or if it rolls. Flat land in tornadoes take more damage. In a hurricane land doesnt matter.

I've never been through a hurricane, but after seeing the medias portrayal of Katrina, I would never wish that devastation on anyone. I have lived in tornado country, and have seen tornados go over my home. I have seen the wreckage left behind by tornados that touched down not far from where I lived. It is true you have more warning for a hurricane though. I think they can be equally devastating actually. How horrible it would be to have everything you own destroyed in a matter of minutes. My heart goes out toward those that have experienced either.
