I think that most of us have seen the movie Titanic and know that it was based on a true story of a lady who reveals herself when her painting was found years after the Titanic sank. In the movie it is shown that at last the old woman throws "The heart of the ocean- blue heart shaped diamond" in the ocean. Do you think she actually threw the diamond???

I loved the movie titantic I have seen it a bunch of times but it was not really based on a true story the only part was true was the ship sinking and the some of the characters but the 2 main ones I think were just fake characters and I dont even know if the heart of the ocean really exist would be pretty dumb to throw it in the ocean like I thought was dumb she did in the movie.

I also think that throwing the heart of the ocean isn't true and if it is, it's preety dumb. However i think that the two character's are real.

Not at all, Titanic movie was adapted screenplay base on true story sank of Titanic, there's no detail woman thrown the diamond into ocean, that was fictional to make more dramatical story of the movie.

I watched Titanic about 15 times and saw that Gloria Stuart, the woman who played the 102-year-old Rose Dawson. But of course the James Cameron 1997 blockbuster movie about the doomed luxury liner is just a fiction, though the event of the maritime disaster of Titanic is a true story, the movie version is only a fiction that used Titanic disaster as a story backdraft, so the throwing of the heart of the ocean nicklace is purely fiction also.

So is everything except the sinking isn't true for example the characters, the love, the sacrifice e.t.c

Hi. I agree with jlamela. The sinking of the Titanic might be true but I believe that most of the details given in the movie are already fictional. And that would include the throwing of the ocean-blue heart-shaped diamond into the ocean.

yeah thats why i was wondering why would anybody film the old lady throw such a precious gem (explained in the movie) in the ocean rather than stopping her.
