Another high school girl commited suicide last week. The girl did not perform well in the exam. She returned home, nothing seemed different. She simply told her mom that she would visit her grandma in the nearby city and then she set off. After seeing her grandma, she quietly opened the window of the fourth floor apartment and quietly walked as if walking on the floor and died. Her mother would never imagine that she would do so. Such incidence occur every year. does it often happen in your country? Do students apart from China consider exams so seriously too?

We know what the winner should be, but this is not the case for this young lady. Society should try to cast a different image then everyone needs to be successful to be someone. I would rather be poor and live like a disciple than not know who Jesus is.

That's really happen but it's rare. I remember my classmate then that when we are taking the exams. He is not prepare because he think the exam is easy. He don't know that exam is both higher math consequently (differential and integral calculus)...Then I notice that he is always move in different direction seems he is don't know the answer...Then abruptly stand up and said he is general then go up to the fifth floor in our school but our professor stop him... That really an strange occasion for some student that really don't accept their fate in the exams they take...

It is horrible. There is a lot of pressure on students especially in Asian countries like Japan and China. At my college, there is not a lot of pressure to do well academically and it is up to the students themselves to stay motivated and work hard. Students should take their studies seriously but schools shouldn't be so hard on students that they feel a grade is more important than their life.

That is etremely sad to know taht she thoughtthat no tdoing well in an exam was all that there wa s to life and the end all.I mean this girl could have been a future doctor but just started off slowly .I wonder though if her parents might have pressured her too much or she was the one who placed too much emphasis on it

A very sad situation this is. Exams could put alot of pressure on a student and parents can sometime be over the limit. Exams are not the end of the world. If you fail one, then just need to study more but you can not take this too seriously.

Do you know why she did that?

It happened in many circumstances. perhaps the parents should not be too strict on their kids. they should not pressure them much. school was enough stress for them. The parents should accept the extent of their kids' capacity. they should always counsel their kids on life.

Yes it happens in India too. The main reason for this is the pressure from parents to do well in exams.
