Some people, we can see, who are not confident to stand before a crowd. We can judge them while they standing before us for i speech or seminar, by taking a glance over their face. They may to not confident in their dressing or they may be not confident about the topic to present. Do you have a self evaluation and are you confident to stand before a crowd and speak? If you are not confident, what worries you then?

Hi!! I am very confident in expressing myself and my views in front of a crowd.I have always anchored the festivals held in our engineering college though I would admit that I was once afraid of going on stage. It was all due to the help of my teachers in my school who instilled confidence in me to perform in front of a number of people. Now I can easily address a crowd and keep them engaged with my talks.M a good debater and have won many competitions in debates and was also named as the best in group discussion when I had a campus interview :).Many of my friends still have a stage fright, some can't even speak properly in front of the interviewer forget the crowd.I think the best way to overcome is to have confidence in yourself and your talks after all the people you are going to face or address are humans ultimately just like me or you lol.

Yeah obviously :).Everyone feels worried and tensed when facing the public for the first time but it all depends on self belief due to which we can overcome our fear of facing the public. You must have belief in yourself that you can give your best shot in front of the crowd.

I had stage fear in my childhood. I used to feel pleple are looking at me and used to fear whether my dress is ok, my talking is fine or am I ridiculing myself etc. But on seeing my children performing well on stage, whether speech, singing or playing instrument, I thought I should be an inspiration for them and should not fool myself. From that time onwards, I left the fear and was confident on stage. I was always getting first prize in the extempore speech competitions of all the languages in my office and also good prizes in singing and debate competitions. I thank my children for inspiring me, though I should have inspired them.

well. think i'm not so easy to get neverous stand before the crowd already.but i also fear to stand before many people and say something before.that need courage and really have something to say. if we have read a lot and have plenty of knowledge on our head then just talk something there and fell confident with yourself.

Hi abhaijith! I'm really not that confident at standing before a crowd. My lips and knees tremble every time I make a speech. I'm worried that I can't deliver my idea to others and afraid of their reaction about a certain topic. It only happens when I start speaking but as I go on with my speech, I often fades away. Happy mylotting!

I certainly wish I had the confidence and ability to speak to a crowd but I have never been able to do it. I suffered through a speech class when I was in high school and that's the last time I had to do it. My fear of public speaking is severe enough that it could be considered a phobia I think. If I get up in front of people, all I can think of is that everyone is looking at me and what they are thinking of me. I get tongue tied, dry mouth, my hands shake, it's just horrible. I avoid it at all costs. I guess it boils down to a basic fear of looking stupid. It's all psychological, I know, but I've never been able to overcome it. I do my "speaking" now through writing and the internet with my websites and blogs. That gives me the outlet, so I can speak to a crowd without being in front of them. Hooray for the internet!

The thought that "I am" the point where all these people listening will make us nervous. So its better not to think about others before us and speak what we have to. Good day.

have to say I don't like being around to many people, let alone performing in a crowd. get nervous start to shake, hate it when I go to the grocery store and there are so many people feel over crowded. some people do judge you by how you would present yourself in a crowd speech or lecture. I don't think that I would ever want to improve this. just don't need it.

I am not confident speaking in front of a crowd whatsoever. I get really nervous. If I'm talking to someone or a small group informally I am perfectly fine. I think I just get nervous because I know all the attention is on me and if I mess up everyone will know. My freshman year of college everyone had to take a public speaking class...I don't know how I passed, I think my teacher felt pitty towards me (but at least I wasn't the only one that got super nervous)...I think we got a passing grade just for getting through the class lol...but seriously my first speech I had to do for that class was suppose to be 30 seconds (which you don't realize is actually a lot of time to talk lol) and my teacher said afterwards to breathe, I didn't realize it but I held my breath while talking...Slowly my speeches got a little better but it's 5 years later, and I still HATE speaking in front of groups.

He He.I think, its a good system in colleges to make us confident. Here in my country we have seminars from the primary standards, itself. And its part of the cyllabus. As me too had been following that system,am confident to speak in front of crowds but not a Huge crowd but a maximum of 100 people.ah.

At one time this was my greatest fear and I still have problems with it. I'm slowly starting to push forward though and I have joined a group that regular meets in London! We may visit a pub or a museum or something of that nature! I think that the more I practise the easier it becomes. There will always be difficult days ahead but I guess it's how we deal with things on the day that counts. I don't think I would have the courage to carry out a speech or anything like that but being in a crowd with friends is becoming a little easier. Andrew

I'm pretty confident to face a crowd. However, i wasn't a very confident person in my school days. I would run far from those who add my names into elocutions and stuffs life that. But with experience and a job profile where i need to interact with variety of people, i have learnt the trick of the trade. But then the topic of conversation is what makes people comfortable and confident to face the public :)

There was a time in my life where I was so painfully shy that I wouldn't have been able to stand in front of a crowd to speak if it was the only thing that I could do to save my life. However, then I joined the speech team when I was in middle school and that gave me the new ability to be able to stand in front of a crowd with confidence and to be able to present what I had to say in an effective manner. When I get done with any speech that I have to give I'm always highly critical of myself, but I always get compliments on how well I've done.

A lot of people fear public speaking or speaking before a crowd. And I suffered from that as well. But I joined this great speech club called ToastMasters and it has really done so much for me. While I still struggle with being confident while speaking I have come a long way.

I'm not very confident, no. Having said that, it's been quite a while since I had to do any public speaking... I imagine I'd be a bit more comfortable if I tried it now - I'm generally a lot more self-confident, and happier in myself. When I've tried to present my work before, I've been afraid of the judgements of others, and that my intentions will be misunderstood... I've always been better at communicating in the written word!

I am confident enough to talk to a crowd but I wouldnt do it as I dont like crowds of people it makes me feel really uncomfortable. I have never liked alot of people around me! I do have alot of friends and I am very good socially just as long as the people are in small groups and not big groups! I also dont like alot of people in our flat!

Well yes i do have stage fear. It takes a lot for me to stand in front of group of peoples and do some presentation or something like that. I am just worried that maybe i go wrong and people end up laughing. How much confidence i may show my hand starts trembling. I have to improve my self-confidence otherwise it will become a problem for me in the future and i also have some seminars to do in college.

hi Abhijith,i used to be one of those scary ones to stand before a pool of people but i had to do some work on it and finally i have gathered courage to express my views in front of 5000 people in our college annual day.And from then i never looked back and participated in many paper presentations and won few though.Every one can overcome this fear of stage fear coz they are used to move on with groups so they lack confidence.gud day.

It just takes some getting used to. I get in front of lots of crowds becuase I perform rap music. At first the crown my intimidate you so you have to make sure you are regularly in front of crowds to the point where you dont think about it anymore and you feel comfertable. Everyone will be nervous their first thime but its something that you have to get used to in order to feel comfertable.

Hi there, this is a very interesting topic, and you are right about that some people are having a hard time speaking in front of a crowed, they may be shy or let us say not confident and comfortable with their cloths and some are not sure of what they will say. My answer for your question is simply, yes! I can and i am confident to stand before a crowd, i have been a leader for so many times, and i also become a facilitator of seminars and team buildings, and since i was a child, i already know how to stand in front of so many people. I often sing to some prestigious occasions in hotels when i was a child, that time my mother always asked me to prepare a song for her colleagues. She was part of a National Organization and it made me a confident individual since then. Have a great day!

I have stage fright. In the past just standing in front of a crowd would make my hands shake a lot, and I would feel like wanting to die. Life circumstances made me get a new job as a teacher, so I had to stand in front of crowds everydays. That's how I got rid of my stage fright, if you have to face it many times you end up getting used to.
