I'm trying to verify my credit card with paypal..but I get an error message like "We were unable to verify this credit card. Please check if the information you entered is correct. If the problem persists, please try to enter a different credit card." Why is this? Has anyone faced similar problem..Please guide me the process to verify the credit card with paypal..

Are you sure that you entered correct details about your credit card? Like the numbers, the last 3 digit code behind the card, expiry date-- must be same format as asked? Your birthdate and all... Double check the entries; I am pretty sure that somewhere there, you mistakenly type with error... !

I did not face any such kind of a problem when I got my paypal account verified with my credit card. But that was a long time back. After that banks introduced another security features like Secure Code for Master and Visa vard which every card holder has tos et for making any trnsaction via credit card. I think, this might be one of the reasons. Without setting your secure code, you will bnot be able to make any successful transaction. Moreover, also cross check the details you entered while verifying for Paypal. even a single digit mismatch will lead to the transaction failure. So, make sure you do everything correct. You can also call the customer care of your bank and they might be able to tell you the detailed reason for the failure of your transaction

Thanks for the suggestion..Just now I called my bank to enquire about it..I was told that my bank does not allow transaction less than Rs. 100..Since paypal charges a minimum amount of $1.98, the transaction has not been allowed by my bank..

What bank is it? its an illogical reason. Y wouldn't any bank allow you to have a transaction of whatever amount you choose. I didnt face any such problem with my bank. When i verified my paypal account, i was charged some 96 rupees but then the amount was refunded at my paypal account

You have to make sure you give them the correct information. The exact card number, the name exactly as it appears on the card, and the billing address. If you try to use a prepaid card it usually gives an error message. You may have to try again later. Try to check the FAQ on their website if it still doesn't add after trying later. Cheers and happy myLotting!

You can't use all types of cards. Some cards are not good for internet, others are only good for your home country. You need a card with 16 numbers. I had a card with 12, that was only for in country and couldn't use it for everything. Some prepaid cards are not usable for internet. Try another card. The directions are easy and if the card is good it goes through without a hitch.

It good to verify your paypal account using a debit card,or better still you use a virtual credit card to do that so that you will not have any problems.

I don't have a virtual credit card or a debit card..So I have to make it up with the credit card only.

I think the problem may be that you have not supplied them with a bank account. Paypal works two ways. Not only to send money out but to receive it also. First and foremost this is what Paypal does. When they added the credit card feature, it is as a backup. If you make a purchase and there is not enough funds in your bank it defaults to the credit card. Now I am not 100% sure of this but it may very well be where your problem is. Only way to know is contact them. When I set my credit card up I already had my bank information there from a former business. Check it out.

That happened to me a while ago...I would wait a few hours before you try again. If you are still having trouble, email paypal. They are good about getting back to you about issues.

Hi smilyn, Have you checked that all the details are correct such as the number on the card and so on. Even if one is in the wrong place then that could sabotage the whole verifying process. If you have done this it might be worth sending paypal an e-mail and saying what the problem is (we are unable to verify this...) Hope this helps!
