Deleting all my.....

typos.... Nope, not deleting my friends. I like y'all. Nope, not deleting my interests. Can't be bothered. Nope, not deleting any discussions. myLot won't let me do that. So the topic here really is originality. How do you manage to be original in all your discussions when there are so many people on here and pretty much every topic on earth has been discussed at least once? Well I use sneaky titles like "deleting all my" and "bringing back hanging" to lure y'all in. I also tell stories from my own life. Sometimes I flop too. Not like a fish. Like a person who's doing a discussion on originality when that topics been done at least 100 times. So I get two weeks off starting next week. Are you guys going to be working or off or sitting banging your head against the wall trying to think up original discussions?

One day mylot would run short of real and original topics(until and unless celebrities dont involve in any scandals and this world is moving on without any breaking news though) and members would be so bored of responding to the same discussions that they would request for copy option irespctive of the rank so they can easily paste in there without wasting much time. but i dont run out any topics to discuss about coz i have an infinite stack of topics so i would come to rescue you all.gud day.

What fun would life be if celebrities didn't get involved in scandals? lol

They do although I sure hate the way the paparazzi get in people's faces. Tiger Woods, for example, may deserve that, but his wife and kids don't.

Celebrities do give us plenty of things to talk about, that's for sure. It is nice to know that when they are having a slow run of things, though, then we can always call on you, Sunny, to give us something new and interesting to discuss. I will be sure to remember that, so you had better be ready to answer that call. Sunnycool to the rescue!

You know Dawn.. (Of course you don't, so let me fill you in.LOL), when I was a myLot-toddler (and yes I was cute even then.), I used to have a lot of trouble coming up with discussion topics. I used to think 'eureka', that is a cool topic. Then I would realize that it has already been taken up by someone else. Then I would have this look= But now things are much easier. I just write random stuff and people must think, what is she on about? Then they come. I like your technique. I should try it (I hope I don't flop like a fish or a human.)

You know, some of the other people here had a point. So many people are on here, it's almost impossible to come up with a topic that hasn't been done in some way, shape or form. So as long as it isn't something that you see all the time or that's against guidelines, I say go for it!

Generally I dont think about discussion to be started.. it would arise when we think something or do chat with other person.. that time i note the topic and ask to mylotters... and i think this my original discussion post..............

I may not have the luxury of as much time here over the next few days but I will try to pop in whenever I can and, as far as original discussions go I do whatever my heart tells me to do and, although sometimes it may not turn out the most interesting or original, I get to chat to at least a few people and that’s okay with me. Sometimes it is a matter of taking a topic that has been done before but just putting a different angle and title on it!

that depends on what you define as work. Just a while ago, i saw (and was reminded) that it is not work unless you have something better to do aside from it. Or at least it goes something like that. I take that what you are really doing is not work unless you think it is work, or when you are not enjoying it, then it becomes a burden to you. If you enjoy what you're doing ,then that is like a hobby. and not call it work. so for me, this holiday season, i'm not going to work. i plan to keep on doing the things i like and love. I'm going to continue with my hobbies like mylotting.

To be original in mylot is quite difficult, but its take time and some thinking to have a discussion which someone has not started. There are no foolish discussion or foolish answers.

I think that this is a great discussion!! I think that you can always be origional when you are talking about your own life. It can be a repeat discussion as far as the fact that we are all alive and there are only so many things that we can really be doing that is not like anyone else here in the land of mylot. But in your eyes and from your particular experience its brand new for the sharing. Unless of course you have already shared it so many times here. Now as far as the time off. I am planning on maybe getting on here and just posting reply's and a few "new" discussions. One thing I know I wont be doing is, copying someone else s idea in new discussion form. And no, I dont think I will bang my head on the wall. I get enough migraines without doing that LOL!!

Very good strategy, Dawn. For me, I keep my titles long so that I could make it like uniquely moi too. I must say that your method rocks; I saw the title Deleting all my...and I thought oh no! You are going to delete your friends or perhaps your involvement in another site or something. Something that is inquisitive in nature there for the title; good strategy... Keep it fun, funky and interesting always, Dawny..

I try to keep my titles interesting to catch people's attention, too. Then, I usually write a long discussion (although I do try to keep it from being too long and boring), so that people know what I am talking about and hopefully it gives them something to discuss - the whole "quality" thing. Apparently that is were I go so very wrong, however, because I have read that quite a few people will not read long discussions as it takes too much time away from them responding. I guess the "one liners" are right up some people's alleys, which is why we will never get rid of them (the one line discussions, I mean).

Typos, pray do tell how are you doing that? I suppose you mean from individual posts as you do them right? Hmm, GREAT ORIGINAL DISCUSSION! Oh and so sneaky, but not too sneaky as I've caught on to you! I knew you were doing sneaky titles, as do many! SO THAT is not original, but the discussions are, lol! Oh and I can have the two days for Christmas off but will most likely work Christmas Eve, though how you call sitting and / or cleaning interchangeably a job... lol but heck I get paid for it! lol.. I'm an IHA (in home aide).

Well u may say that some of the topics are being repeated more then zillion times and likely to go over again and again. It really puts me off but I think what cn you do? Or may be one has to be more creative then that. Most of our time is taken up here writing this and that, we dont have time to think of something that would stand out or shine. So may be take the Christmas holidays and think about something new. I only have a few days off and lots of work pending. So am Planning to take rest.

I'm sure people don't deliberately try to be unoriginal. Some of them are new here and haven't seen the zillion repetitions. Also, some are really just here for money and figure, post anything, it will pay, not realizing that their efforts are wasted if their discussions get deleted. I find that for the most part, the people who are NOT here for money are the most original ones. Sort of like doing something for love...

Do u mean to say if a post is repeated continouly it gets deleted sorry i was not awre of that and besides I thought they violate the code of condut or something. I think there should be a new reform, not sure if it is possible or not but to tell every user to give 5/10 topics each, coz I think when u r using only one mond there will be duplicate things seeing here and there.

ehmm... this is an interesting discussion and you certainly lure me to your discussion by your title... well, the only way that i can think about to be original here is to create a discussion based on your real story of your life... i believe that it will be very original and not many people can have exactly the same life experiences... take care and have a nice day...

I will be working some, and off some. I do not bang my head against the wall as it is good for neither the wall nor my head. Like you, I try to create originality by personalizing the topics, after all, there is only one me, I am the original. So there!! You are sneaky and misleading, though, but you admit it.

I'd like to say you lured me in, but in fact, I followed GardenGerty over, as I guess the myLot notify is off so instead of mylotting from my email, I went looking to see which friends were active today. I'm sort of original and can pretty easily come up with things, but usually I don't have time to start discussions because all the folks on my friend list normally keep me busy. Telling stories from out own lives is a sure fire-way to be original, though.

Ok, your lured me in! I hoped you weren't deleting me, afterall, we just became myLot friends! Originality? I guess I don't go for originality . . . I just ask away real-life things that are on my mind at the time. On that note, I try to ask a question as the headline (a habit I got from being on Yahoo Answers for so long . . . there is has to be a question). Pose a question, and people will answer. Hopefully anyway! I have noticed that if I get too original, no one will respond . . . like on topics that are too obscure - so since learning that, I'm trying to stick with general topics that everyone can relate to. Is that boring?? I'm a stay at home mom, so I don't get 2 weeks off (rarely even 2 minutes - ha ha). Maybe one day I'll think of something truly original here
