It's hard to be an AVON dealer...

I was once an AVON dealer. I did enjoy selling and gaining small amount of money from it. But, I guess it's difficult because you have to be good in sales talking. It's also hard to ask people to pay for their orders during payment times. I tried it before because I thought it was very easy but I was mistaken. I don't wanna do it again because I think it won't really help me solve my financial problems. But, somehow, I love the products from AVON, especially their make ups. How about you guys, have you tried selling products from AVON? Did you find it hard or easy? Do you also use AVON products?

I know exactly what you mean because I used to sell AVON a couple of years ago, and I really didn't make any profit from it. I think there are certain people who are good at it because they are in a position where they are around a lot of women, or social circles, or businesses, that can afford to still spend a lot of money on beauty products. I was not one of those people, I love AVON, but like you, I was very unsuccessful at selling it.

You're definitely right. There are some people who are good in sales talking and because of that, they become successful with this kind of business. I hope you will be able to find what you're looking for. Happy myLotting.

Hi there, I am a Avon member and dealer since 2005 until now. Avon helped me a lot financially way back then. Until now I am using Avon products, I think I could make a good testimony about Avon. I love Avon perfumes, cosmetics, and skin & body care products. When selling, I make myself as an endorser for I have tested most of Avon products, and it looks good for me. Well with regards to payment, for me I tell my customer to pay first before getting their product or we are like switching on the spot like "you pay, I give the product right away".

Congratulations if that's the case. Maybe this kind of job is really meant to be yours. Just continue doing it and I am sure you will become more successful with it.

I guess when doing something for money we should first do is ask ourselves if we really enjoy doing it. If we don't then that is not what we need to do since it will just make our lives miserable doing that. I guess making sales talk is not the thing for you so just enjoy using the products at least you will have discounts gatting them for your own personal use.

I think so. Making money is not only about making money. We should also find pleasure on it. Our effort will be useless if we are not happy with what we are doing. Thanks for the comment.

i agree. you really have to have a good customer base to make any money. my avon lady has 100 customers and does quite well.

I love being an Avon Rep but I think what makes it hard it tracking down folks to pay their bill. I have had a couple of instances where one didn't pay or we miss each other in trying to pay. Oh it is something. because of it, I couldn't pay and had to leave it at present but I plan to get back into it very soon. The products speak for themselves and it's universally known so it's not a hard sell just getting your stuff and getting it in.

Hi, pentagan12. Yes, many years ago this woman came to my in laws house to talk to me about Avon. And I had to pay $10.00 to start. I tried it out and it did not work for me either. I don't like talking to people and it was hard to get sales. I try to get an job where I don't have to do any selling or talking up front. I also don't like selling over the phones either. I am not made out to be a salesperson. My husband has this talent in him, but not me. I am kinda on the shy side. I do love the products that Avon has. My grandmother used to always buy our deodorant from Avon when we were younger. It was called, Feelin, Fresh. It is a great opportunity to make money with, but you have to know how to make great sales. I agree with you selling Avon can be very difficult.

I'm an Avon Rep and I find it easy to sell avon. Order some demos and show it to people and they will order and show them the big deals and give them samples. I also use avon products.
