Like 5 years ago the roads here in kerala were pathetic with full of potholes and everything.but now potholes are very less even though the roads are not really smooth.I wonder why do potholes appear only in indian roads ..is it because of low quality materials used to build the road?or is it like that in all poor countries?

Yes the roads in India are improving a lot and so are the highways. Now-adays many 6 lane roads are been built at several places and also express highways are been built to connect faster between cities. Also in the cities roads of RCC are been built so that they are not damaged in the rains.

yes, the roads here in our place are being made even in the small gullies but our street that is gully will always be muddy without a road i guess. becoz nobody cares about our area and ther is no-one to complain also. i want to point out to one thing..that the materials used here in making roads are so third class that the roads are finished in a year or two.You wouldn't believed that there was a road here built a year before.

The national highways and the four track roads are at its best.Nobody will complain if they happen to travel on those roads. With good byepass to all the towns and villages, one can pass on from city to city, thinking India has developed a lot.But the little towns and villages remain the same with potholes as you have told.New roads cannot stand one good rain.It is not due to the poor materials but the commission that the politician derive from the amount sanctioned causes cheap roads.

If the road is being laid over agricultural areas, then we cannot help much since it depends upon the soil condition, water level and other things. In kerala the fertitlity of the soil is a great hindrance to the laying of roads and hence in remote areas near kollam, tirunelveli in tamil nadu, you could witness many potholes. With improved technologies, you can lay good roads but in a vast country like India, laying good roads every where is not a feasible thing and hence we face this hindrance.

But now we have cement road. Not only in my area actually i used to travel three states for my work. In all these states i observed a definine and impressive development which is very good for our Indian repetition.

Yeah friend,i think Our roads are improving well nowadays. The main reason for this condition is the lack of proper maintainance at proper time. Yeah you are right the roads are not smooth in our state, because we do only the patch works on the potholes,so that losing the smoothness due to level difference. Lets hope we will improve fast.
