In winter some people is easy to catch old, i am one of them. But i do not go to hospital and deal with it by myself. Fever is the body's normal and healthy reaction to infection and other illness, both minor and serious. It helps the body fight infection. I will eat some medicine and focus on the fever. It will be fine several days later. Of course my friend like to go to hospital, every time when they catch a cold they will go to hospital. How about you? Do you like go to hospital?

Hi codris: When i was a kid i was very sensitive to cold too but this passed away for a reason, maybe because the weather of the town i live it's really warm for almost all the year but i can understand how it feels. I prefer a place with a weather not too hot but not too cold. Can i found a place like that? Lol. XD. Hope you are ok right now, even that, being December it must be very cold in your country right now. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. -Alvaro.

If I catch a cold I will take over the counter medicine to try and get rid of my cold I will not go to the hospital right away. If after taking the over the counter medicine for a week or ten days I am not getting any better than I will go to the doctors office to see if I have an infection and need some antibodic to help get rid of the cold.

Hi kevin: I don't like to go to a hospital and I do my best to not go to the hospital but this doesn't mean I am afraid of going to a hospital. If I can't deal by myself with a sickness I should know when it's time to go to a hospital because my health is a priority. I have never heard about this advice but it's what i usually do. Thanks for starting this discussion. Have a nice day. -Alvaro.

I get sick really easy too ... and when I get sick, it's for awhile. Last year, I started to feel a cold come on, so I drank two bottles of orange juice IMMEDIATELY! Now it's always my quick fix. Antibiotics are not good for people to take every time they're sick. Antibiotics kill bacteria. ALL bacteria. People think that's good, because we're brought up to think that bacteria are these creepy, crawly bugs that get us sick. But that's not true for all bacteria. There's good and bad. The good fights the bad to keep you healthy. When you get sick, it's because there's too much bad at that time. But if you don't allow the good to fight the bad and you just kill all of it with antibiotics, the good will never learn how. That is why people keep getting sick ... because they don't allow their bodies to learn how to fight it off.

During the winter period all I do is to keep warm by putting on the right cloth so that I will not feel any cold but in case I have cold no hospital for its normal its just a change of the condition so with time my body will be adapted. No hospital for me but I know people who are addicted to hospitals.

Haha,I don't like to go to hospital. When I got a cold I will drink a lot of water and eat lots of fruits.Maybe I will have some medicine according to the symptom.

I don't go to the hospital whenever I catch a cold, too. I often get colds, sometimes with a fever or a sore throat. I usually medicate myself with decongestants, or Tylenol, or antibiotics, and double my intake if vitamin C. I drink lots of water as well, wear something warm, and rest. I get well after a few days.

Interesting Topic Because Today only I catched up Cold and now Typing on Mylot by wearing Sweater for getting some warmth in my Body. If you have to deal with Cold you should wear sweaters,Don't go outside at night and specially cold green places,Take Soup or Tea twice a day which will makes your body feel warm and if you are non-vege than this is the Perfect time for that Meal to keep your Body temperature little high.

Hi friend! Catching cold is very much common among people allover the world. Whenever I catch cold, I don't panic like those who frantically go to the hospital. I follow natural remedies. I keep my body warm, take fruits rich with Vitamin C (e.g. lemon, lime, orange, pineapple etc.), take spice-tea (made with ginger, cinnamon, clove, black peppers etc. boiling with tealeaves), sniff mustard-oil through my nostrils and regular gurgling. That's okay for me drive away cold from my body. Best of luck!

HaHa no I don't unless is a very high fever(rarely get them). My cold will eventually go away.In fact, I think that going to the hospital too much is bad for your health.Just for a minor cold you gets shots or strong medicine for it?Come on,ONLY GO TO THE HOSPITAL IF YOU THINK YOU'RE DYING.

Hi, kevinll. When I get a cold, I will just treat it at home with some medicine. If it gets severe where I have a sore throat that will last for many days, that is when I will go to the doctor. I have never been to the hospital for an cold before. When I was younger I had Pneumonia and I was in the hospital then. I have the Flu right now and it is going away. I don't have the Fever this time. But, last year I had the Fever and sore throat and I was feeling very sick then.

Hi kevinll I like go to the hospital because the cafe inside it usually cozy and provide delicious food (although the people who eat inside usually don't look happy). I love the smell of medicine, the decoration, etc. Well, for cold, once a doctor said to me that the best medicine for cold is eat and sleep! Really Now everytime I get cold, I simply eat warm food (soup, porridge, etc) then go sleep with blanket for hours. This method work :)

I spend most of the winter with a cold, and always have. It's very annoying. No, I would never go to the hospital or the doctor with just a cold. I wouldn't want to expose myself to even more germs unnecessarily, lol! Also, I think that the doctor would just laugh at me if I said that I was there just with a cold - or else they would tell me off for wasting their time! I used to just put up with the fever, but recently I've started to take paracetamol when I have one, as a fever often stops me from being able to sleep which makes me more ill - and it's not fair on my daughter if I'm too grumpy from sleeplessness! Apart from paracetamol I make sure that I take a multi-vitamin, and I make soup; either a vegetable soup with tofu or spicy ginger soup with rice. I also make sure that I eat other spicy food like curry, as it feels like this helps to burn the cold away. I also dress up warm if I'm feeling cold, or stay cool if I'm too hot.

I don't usually catch colds but when I do I try and take care of it myself. I take some kind of cold medicine and drink a lot of tea and sleep a lot. I take a lot of vitamin supplements and if I feel I'm getting a cold I increase the C, D and E. If it doesn't get any better or lasts a long time, I will go to the doctor. I have never gone to the hospital for a cold. I think you should only go to the emergency room if you are really sick.

I usually deal with the cold by going inside of a building or a car or something. I hate the winter so much that I don't even like being outside at where I live. It's just way to cold here to feel comfortable outside during the winter.

When I get sick with a cold, I stay in the house where it is warm and comfortable, get lots of sleep, and drink lots of fluids. I take cold medicine when necessary. My husband has invented a wonderful drink made of warmed up maple syrup (the real stuff from Canada, not the immitation crap), mixed with bourbon, and a bit of lemon juice. It is the perfect cough and cold medicine, and works wonders.

When I catch by cold, I take antibiotic course for five days with multivitamins capsules. Drink lots of water. If my fever goes high(above 100 degree f.), then I take one paracitamal tab (power 250). For these my illness no longer than 4 days.

i take alot of vitamin c on a regular basis as is but i increase it if i get a cold or flu. i also take vitamin d on a regular basis which is really essential to a good functioning immune system. i increase that as well when ill with a cold or flu. i get plenty of fluids and rest if and when i can. the resting part is not so easy as i am a mom and i work from home and i have to take care of my responsibilities sick or not. i wash my hands alot too and i think prevention is really the key.
