There are two types of people in this world: Those who say, "I will believe it when I see it." And those who say "To see it, I know I must believe it."

As a child I was told by my grand pa there are three types of believing: 1) When u hear someone and u believed it 2)When u read something and u believed it 3) When u see something and u believed it. To him the best was to see is to believe and its the best coz your own eyes are witnessed of the things are being potrayed

Your grandpa obviously had quite an impact on you. That is wonderful! if your own eyes witness it does it make it more real?

Yes coz imagien if someone tells u that so and so were saying so and so or doing such and such. Would u believe it? Some people do and it spoils your relationsip with them for ever. But if u dont believe that u would like to hear or see then it makes sense and u also have the benefit of clearing any confusions whatsoever.

"i will believe it when i see it" makes more sense to me than the other one.

So many feel that way. I think it makes sense as well, however I really have to believe in something for it to happen I guess.

I do believe things easily most of the times. I am that type. But sometimes, I don't believe until I want to see. But most of the times, I easily happen to believe what people say, because to my senses, nothing is impossible on the face of this earth. So, one belief, makes me believe anything people say and easily get conned. Ha ha..!

Yikes, getting conned is no good :) I think you raise a valid point that sometimes you don't believe until you want to. You are right, nothing is impossible on this earth!

Hi, Jodylee! I do have my spells of believing it only when I see it. However, for the most part, I know that what I believe is what is and will be! It's partly faith in God and partly faith in humanity and even myself!

That is a good point. Belief in yourself can do so much!!!

There are things that I believe without seeing direct evidence, like God. But I see evidences of those things that make it impossible for me to believe otherwise. I wish I could say I'm a believer before I see the direct evidence, but I'm not there yet in all things. I guess I'm somewhere in between.

In between seems to be the concensus. It is amazing when you have evidence of something but you just can't see it with your own two eyes. Sometimes the feeling is enough!

I am kind of person who believe in what i see and there is only one thing i can believe without need to see that is the God. So, can you choose for me, in which one is my criteria according to your options? I also believe if there are also lot of people who have the same thought with me out there. Some people maybe only believe in what they see, or believe in what other's words, but i won't be like that. I believe in myself, i believe in my power, i believe in my ability, and i believe in what i see with my own eyes, with the exclusion to the God because i believe the God although i will never ever see Him, because i can feel Him in my life. Happy mylotting.

I like your response. I certainly don't think everyone should fit perfectly in these two catagories. There is so much room for movement like you said based on opinions. I am amazed at how many believe in God but not in other things they cannot see. I do appreciate the vibrations he sends to your life to let you know He is there for you.

I think it's a little more advanced than that :D But I you want do divide everyone into those two groups then I'll have to belong to the "I'll believe in when I see it group".

Things can always go deeper. Do you ever believe without seeing? I really do not need to see things to believe, I think there is more of a feeling that things exist and that is enough for me to go on most of the time.

How about three types. Don't forget to include those who just believe. Do you have to see something in order to believe it?

I think those who just believe do need to be mentioned as well. I do not have to see something to believe it. I believe in things and have watch them manifest themselves in so many ways.

it depends on what topic we are talking about.there are some things that doesn't have to be seen to be believed.an example is God.I believe in Him,but I haven't seen Him.all I know is that there is a strong, holy being guarding us from the Heavens.for ghosts,I don't believe in them because I haven't seen them.there are lots of unseen forces on earth and we can't really identify which is a ghost from others.

God is often the easiest reference to not having to see to believe. There are so many reasons why people feel there is the existence of a God which is amazing. The driving force must be the miracles witnessed each and every day. I do believe in ghosts, but I have had many personal experiences on this one it would be hard for me not to.

Is it possible to be both types??It just depends on the situation and the person who tells me whatever it is I need to believe, for me.

Yes, it is possible to be both. Your right, situations do change perspectives. I like to use imagary to get what I want so I try to believe before I see things.

I think circumstances dictate which one of these person's you will be.People do not react in the same way to different situations and therefore to typecast one person into one of these categories is not possible. But most people react as the second kind of person most of the time and I am no exception.

It is hard to typecast into one catagory for sure. I agree that most people are in the second catagory as well. It is not so much about catagorizing. More just curious about all on here. You can go deeper and the words can change from person to person. That is what makes it most interesting to me.

I spent almost my entire life being like the ones in the first category. For some years I've changed sites and I understood I must believe it in order to see it. Since not very long ago I discovered there's also a 3rd category, part of which I am now, The middle point between your 2 mentioned categories.

The middle ground is a good place to be I am sure. Sometimes you have to be weary of things I suppose. What happened to make you see the middle ground?
