Let us assume you are in love with some one. You are so much excited. You are trying your best to attract that person and win the love. You are not sure whether that person is also having similar feelings towards you. You are careful not to overdo anything and get negative response. But you are dying to know whether he/she is in love with you. Now at one particular moment that person hints that he/she is also in love with you. How would you feel at that particular moment? Butterflies? Will you feel at the top of the world? Would you like to dance alone an celebrate it yourself? Feel like being in heavens? Have you experienced such feelings? Are you lucky enough to enjoy that moment?

Ah vijayanths, why must I have been the first one here. LOL. But then, I happen to be too honest, isn't it? Well, I was kind of highly romantic person - too many Mills and Boon novels. Therefore, when the first time I did get such indication, I told myself I was imagining, and it was my romantic nature that was seeing things. I still dont know whether the indication was genuine or not! LOL. However, subsequently, there were bolder approaches, and frankly they turned me off. Now, I can dare to say that. Actually, may be I prefer subtler way of doing things. I read your response in Hatley's discussion the other day. I couldn't really relate. But then, different people have different ways of reacting, isn't it?

Hi Vandana!---you too!---I am a diehard fan of Mills and Boon [in fact I can write a thesis on some] I was very happy to note a person with similar taste.Who are your favourite authors?Mine are Roberta Leigh, Lilian Peake ,and some of PennyJordan.

Hi Kala, add Anne Mather to that list. LOL. But what was nice to read would have been odd in real life! LOL. Dont you think? Actually, I tried reading Mills and Boon about 10 years after college, couldnt cross the first chapter! I outgrew them I guess, or may be I aged. :) But I read several Leon Uris' novels around that period, and then Jeffrey Archer, and Sidney Sheldon. Even Harold Robbins. I think I liked Prodigal daughter very much, and Sidney Sheldon's Master of the Game, Rage of Angels, and If Tomorrow Comes. Alistair Maclean's lesser known novel, Caravan to Vaccares was something of a cross between Mills and Boon and spy thrillers so it was something I enjoyed. I loved reading books. Pity my job never left me enough time. :( Ah! well, Happy days are here again... :)

Hi, vandana you surprise me as usual and all are pleasant surprises mostly. True different people react differently. Some very differently. You seem to have two faces-one is a very soft and the other one very tough and courageous. I can't agree with you when you say you had no time for mills and boon. Your interest would have faded after years. Kala, Why don't you write a romantic novel instead of writing a thesis on it? I have read a few interesting books of Denise Robins and told the stories to my young wife soon after the marriage.

my dear brother, Wow,so my brother's in love again..again??? uh uh...did i hear my words?...again?(hehehe) Well,i still believe in love, the kind of love that we are discussing in here. But,if you asked me about it dear...i guess, practicality comes first before love is much better if by chances i will fall in love again. uhmnn, let me fall in love and i will tell you what's the feeling then (ahahaha) good luck on that new found love dear brother...beware too(weiii)kidding have a great weekend

hi vijay well well seems like i am not the only one who sometimes dream a little i guess lol.. well that would be such a sweet feeling to me, i could not do much to keep me from thinking about the person all the time of the day, i would be kinda lost .. i should be getting a PHD degree in day dreaming if that happens lol.. well bet i haven't been there yet so i could tell exactly, i have only imagined, i guess like your other discussion about being romantic and as i said i think i am a little romantic, well i would way out of my mind when i would realize the girl likes me hehe... i have often day dreamed of something like this, how wonderful would it be to go through something like this... well as of now there is this girl i like but she is just my friend, even she likes me, we are quite close friends and we share many things and keep in touch all day, who knows we are boyfriend girlfriend already but we haven't thought much.!.. we are afraid of that actually, i mean when we will leave college we would miss each other very much so we are afraid of coming into relationship, we are family friends and we would like to remain just good friends but we have developed some feelings for each other, it's all a little confusing but lets see what happens in the future..

For me love is a very sacred, sensitive and divine feeling. I will enjoy the entire happiness all alone by sitting in a corner of my room recollecting the happiest moments I have spent with my lord of love. Love can not be made but happens and if it happens, the feeling is so great which can not be explained but should be experienced.

I can't make out the essence of your discussion vathsala. It is true that love is like God- can't explain but can feel. But what is that lord of love?

I've actually experienced this feeling with my now boyfriend of 2 1/2 years. At first you have that rush of excitement where every time you talk to one another you feel like the happiest person alive! You have butterflies every time you see/talk to them. It's the most amazing feeling in the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything else! And who says there's no love at first sight. Maybe that person never experienced it haha

I was a timid girl from the beginning. I dared not love a person. My father was also a strict person. That also never gave courage to my mind to love any one. But some one in my office loved me and his friends were shouting his name, whenever I entered his section in the office. Then they approached my family friend on his behalf. My father was also for it. But I did not realise that he was interested and thought that his friends only asked for him. Since my friend's husband was a suspicious nature and used to watch her whether she is talking to any other man in office, I got scared to marry some one from the office. Hence I refused to marry him. Later on, when I realised, I felt sorry for him and guilty also. How much he would have been hurt by this and how let down in front of his friends he must have felt? In my mind I asked for his forgiveness. What else can I do? Both of us were married by then and it was too late a realisation.

Oh boy... now you are going into that teenage stuff... :) Well, it starts very much in teenage life, and this feelings comes and passes by many times... Anyway, if you are talking about that one particular love that hits you and stays with you for a lifetime, yes I've been hit by it, and also, I didn't have to wait to know if she loves me or not, because she was the one who ran to me to confess that she loves me, and it was the only one time in 6 years she ever said "I love you", and after that we hardly met once or twice in the span of 6 years. But that one time confession was so strong enough, that it did give me a lot of excitement and an amazing sensation of pure love in those words, which entered my right ear, and slowly rain down my veins into my heart, and this love energy, spread all over from the heart center, and stayed for such a long time, that it's there even now, and today finally after a long time we are in a commitment. So, yes, it hit me the one time, and it was pretty strong, and I have been extremely lucky enough to enjoy that moment of excitement and love. Makes you feel totally in heaven the first time you know that a woman whom you expected to love you, shows her love and confesses it. Amazing feeling of joy... and ecstasy.

Confusing cobra. It looks like you did not marry her. You both were in love but did not get married? You sound like a great love poet as well. You can write on philosophy and love-it is exactly like me- I used to read Ramayana, Mahabharata stuff even when I was very young-on the other hand I read some romantic novels as well. I love to hear pop music and melody music. I am a kinda mixture , you know.

I feel that before actually just a couple of months ago. I am blissfully happy, I really can't describe the happiness I felt. But after that I was disappointed because he just look at me as a sister and what he really like is my friend. Back to that moment that I was still happy, I can't eat. I never thought that all I can think about is him. His face is the only face I see in the crowd. He is nice to me though, he expressed the same that is why I assumed that he have feelings too, but I was wrong. Lesson learned, never assume.

Well, when I fell for my actual boyfriend I felt really happy when I knew he felt the same as me. You can call it an "inner dance of happyness" It's the best to know when love is mutual, as being one sided it always hurts.
• India
18 Dec 09
Yes, it if it is one sided it really hurts like hell. Fortunately I never had to be in that hell. But one of my dear ones went through that phase that made me very sad.
