Fictional books with underlying political themes! Who else loves these?

1984...The Handmaid's Tale...Animal Farm...The Giver...Watership Down...Brave New World...So many to name, so little room provided. LOL. I personally love any book that goes deeper than the surface; that touches controversial topics while at the same time deceiving us into thinking it's purely fictional (until we notice too many coincidences.) Have you ever read any of these? What'dya think? Which was your favorite? Which, do you think, was most effective in portraying (metaphorically) a political situation or opinion? What do you think, in general, of these types of books?
