Odorous passengers, have you met them?

I am a daily commuter and it’s normal to have different seatmates in a day. I have observed some seatmates to have this unwanted odor especially in their armpits. I want to transfer to other seats but the situation didn’t permit me so especially when the vehicle is fully loaded and there’s no any seat you can turn to. Have you experienced this too? have you told these people straight in their noses that they smell bad?

Just don't forget your handy or tissue when riding public transport. Thats one thing I learned for my 10 years of commuting from/to work. The bad odor is an everyday smell really and I get used to it, now. But on my early days, I would definitely leave the bus on the next stop and ride another one just to get rid of myself and that ugly odor. but I have learned that a nice smelling handy or a tissue would be my best defense against it. lol.

i always have my hankie would me but the odor just seem to be very strong and can even penetrate up to my nose. i prefer sitting at the front so that i can get rid of many people that would surround me. that's the least thing that i would do. thanks for responding here.

I guess some people don't reliese they smell, have sat next to people who smell of sweat or even of garlic etc etc and to be honest most of these people are not aware they smell, I would never tell somebody as at the end of the day it is not my place to tell someone that they smell. Sometimes I go fishing and smell of fish but I am that used to the smell I am not aware I do lol, so I use this fact when am dealing with smelly people most won't even know they smell.

well smells are normal but people should be conscious of that. that's a factor in air pollution too. sometimes it will ruin one's dignity though and that mere smell can be etched in the minds of people forever and wherever you are people will tag you as bad smell.that would certainly hurt anyone.

I have been into this kind of situations and I often just turn my head the other way when I get to smell something awful. I even try to cover my nose and mouth. I often do this in a public utility vehicle so others would assume that I am doing that because of the smoke and dust. I guess if it was a friend of mine, I'd be telling that friend when no one else is around.

I would take some spray with me and tell them to lift their arms, quickly though, you don't want to fumigate the whole place. Then I would spray their pits, nothing is worse than somebody who doesn't take care of their body odor.

I don't know which is worse...bad body odors or too much cologne in a small space like a bus. Or elevator, small restroom...etc. Any small enclosed space where there's nowhere to get away from the smell. But sometimes I'd rather smell the body odors than someone's overuse of cologne/perfume.

It happened to me when I was in college, I was on a passenger jeepney going home from school with my cousin. If you are a Filipino you are familiar with Rizal Avenida, that's when a male passenger rides in the jeep, he was a big man, I was in the end of the seat near the exit and he seated beside me, my cousin was right in front of me, and this man! Hell! It gives me a chill as I'm writing this..he got a very bad strong odor that had smell almost all of the passengers, some of them got off the jeep, and the girls that is on the other side of him had transfer seats. And me, I was staring right at my cousin, enduring the smell of this man, and him..like nothing is happening "dedma lang" but on the way to blumentritt, I surrendered, I'd just make excuses telling my cousin, Let's get off and buy some drinks at 7-Eleven. And my cousin when we got off the jeep, he laughed horribly at me, and me telling him the bad odor gave me a headache. I wouldn't told that guy that he smells really bad, because from the looks of it, he had might killed me back then. LOL!!!
