It's time to think about writing goals for the New Year! What are yours?

The year 2010 is just around the corner, and what will your writing goals be for the new year? Do you want to write more...or just earn more? Do you want to break into a new market? How do these relate to Associated Content? Or are you focusing on a new site this coming year?

My plans for the new year when it comes to mylot are to stay even more connected. I do quite a bit now but I do want to do more. I have a goal for myself every month. Starting next month Im going to increase that goal a little more each month. I also have some personal goals like..stop smoking, losing weight and so on. Keep smiling.

Great goals! I like the idea of making your goal harder each month... but I'd be happy to even hit my goals most months :)

Those are great things to strive for! I always start the new year out with such promise. I am trying to get a head start on my writing goals, but it's not easy to find the time with all the Christmas activities.

That is my problem as well. I have not meant any of my writing goals this week. I still have plenty to do today. Im going to try to take breaks ever so often and come and write. As for the new year I have my goals to meant for each month. I wish you the best and hope that you can meet your goals as well. Good Luck. Keep smiling.

I think I will continue to build my blog. There's a limit to earnings from writing articles, but no limit to the monetizing methods for a blog. Hopefully my two little blogs can get higher PR, more traffic and more sales from affiliate marketing. As for AC, hopefully the $10 per month passive income will continue.

Scheng, my friend, we have missed you around here. I have been busy giving Momma J a hard time. Meanwhile, you must be very busy with those blogs! I will have to check them out...do you have links here? I haven't looked. I miss all your good advice and encouragement. I got to 200 articles over on AC for 2009, but still am working my way to 300 on Helium. If I get there by the end of the year, I will consider it a minor miracle. Hope you are not working too hard. Good luck with your writing goals. Are you making lots of money with your blogs?

I want to write a lot more reviews for "Product Reviews". It is easy to do, and the rewards, gift cards, depending on yoiur country, are very generous. Im not in associated content as they dont publish aussies writing.

Is "Product Reviews" a website? I have been exploring new places to write. I like Associated Content, but I am not tied there. I write for other sites as well. I get tired of one and switch to another. It's not where you write, but that you write!

Yes, Product Reviews has a website. Are we friends? If not, request my friendship and I will email you the link, but only if you want it.

I got your invite, but I am not sure I can write for them, since it's an Aussie site. Not sure we have the same products? Hope you have a lovely Christmas, and a New Year full of great writing opportunities!

Writing goals; perhaps I will concentrate on blogging and also participating in mylot. Good luck for your aim, of trying to get to 300 articles in Helium, and getting more revenue from AC too..

It seems that a lot more people are concentrating on their blogging this year. I have a blog, but I get tired of it easily. Maybe I need a new one with a new topic! Good luck in the year ahead!

I found that to be so as well. Lots of people go around with blogs and actually you can use it to promote your article contents. Give a few sentences like the first few lines and the rest give the link to your AC articles or Helium etc. That way, your page views will increase too.. Happy 2010 to you too..

I just applied to be a featured A&E producer so definitely one of my goals is to write at least one good A&E article a month (cause that's one of the requirements ). But I'd really like to do more than that. I want to push over the 100 article mark so that I can get to clout 9 and get higher PPV bonuses.

I think you've chosen a good topic! People are always looking for information on music and movies and the artists associated with them. I think we all write at our own pace. The thing is to compete against yourself or your own goals, not others. Some people will always write more. We need to work on being the best writers that we can be!

Sounds good! I crossed over 200 articles (my goal for this year), but haven't made it across the 300 threshold for Helium (my other goal). What do you usually write about for A&E? I love to write about art, but not too much about pop culture (where I suspect the big money in page views lies). Good luck and let us know when you do become a producer!

My A&E articles are mostly music centered - artist profiles, album reviews, that sort of thing - some movie articles but those are usually just a kind of "preview of what's to come." I feel like a bit of a slacker because I've been on the site almost as long as the site has been live (it went live in January 05 and I published my first article in August) and I still only have 96 articles, and according to the new clout thingy that shows where we are, I'm 77% of the way to 9.

Well, one simple goal is to get to 300 helium articles :-) Another is to spend some time developing my blogs.

Oh, I am trying to get to 300 by the end of the year. I have 285, but the last ones are very elusive. I grabbed some AC Calls for Content, and now I am distracted with those (in addition to Christmas!). Oh, will I ever reach 300? Only Santa knows for sure. How many more do you need to write?

A lot, LOL! I am not quite halfway there. I might be able to get there by summer.

I want to write more in 2010,in fact I am looking forward to earn a great income writing with all my abilities during all my time. Still I am not that confident as, I have two small kids to look after 24/7. The small one is a baby and is now 10 months old. In the past week , he started walking and that means I will be tired most of the time. Still, I will try to be online and to earn more with quality writing.

I am right there with you, wanting to write more and earn better this coming year. With small kids, you have your hands full! Good luck achieving your goals. Have you set specific targets or just generally improving?

For 2010 I plan to eliminate my "reality tv blog" b/c I find it's boring me now. So I will have more time to write for AC, I hope! I write at AC mostly product reviews and hope to get a little upfront pay there. My friends have told me I should really start making more friends there and building up a following. I currently have 26 fans without trying at all, but I've been there 2 years! So now's the time to start making more friends and posting more often. What's your username over there, I'll check you out :)

I have a book review blog, and I haven't posted anything all month. I know what you are saying about needing a change. I haven't thought about quantifying how much more I want to write, although I know I want to write more and make more money in the new year. I've still got a little time to think it over. It does help to have friends who read your work regularly on AC. You can find me under my real name: Christine Zibas. If you email me over on AC, we can "follow" each other's work and give each other support and page views! Good luck with your writing!

I am going to be focusing more on Demand Studios, magazine submissions and try to get back into fiction again. I quit writing for AC because they haven't been giving me upfront for my articles lately and that ticks me off. They used to give me at least $3 for an article even if there was already a similar article on there and now nothing. Besides, Demand Studios pays me more. I have been writing more and more for them lately. They pay $15 per article and they pay twice a week. As for other writing, I am going to try to get back into short story writing like I used to. I am also going to submit to magazines this year. I have only submitted to two magazines before and I would like to do more of them. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :)

Well it sounds like Demand Studios is a lot more rewarding. And at $15 an article, much more profitable than AC. I am not sure if AC's payment is down permanently or just because we are near the end of the year. I guess next month will tell! I love writing short stories, but I think it is really hard! It takes me so much longer to write fiction than nonfiction articles. Good luck with that...the bigger the challenge, the greater the reward, right? Good luck with all your writing. I am excited about the New Year!

I am going to focus on writing more for Associated Content primarily with non-exclusive articles and trying to double or triple my income there. I will also re-post some articles to eHow and Bukisa, but I am focusing more on AC. I love writing reviews and health articles, but I am also going to try to write more seasonal and how-to articles. Best wishes!

The one thing I really want to do more than anything is to pay attention to what works. I just sort of ramble around to the writing sites, instead of measuring the effectiveness of trying certain things. I know it's not possible to measure them precisely, but I think if I experiment and then track things, it may tell me more about how to get the most from my writing. I think it will be interesting to see how effective focusing on one site can be. Concentration vs. being spread out among many different sites, doing a little at each. I hope you will keep your MyLot friends posted on how successful you are!

My plan for the New Year is to use My Lot more then I currently do. To acheive this I will try to respond to a minimum number of posts each day and then I may actually reach payout. I also plan to write more for the other review/opinion sites that I'm a member of. Again writing a certain amount a week. Yes the extra money will come in more then handy, but it's not just that. I enjoy writing and like sites like these as it allows me to keep practising and improving.

I think with writing, you really have to enjoy doing it for the sake of writing to make any money. The process is just as valuable as the end result, making money. I like it when I come up with a good phrase or sentence, just as much (well, nearly) as collecting money at the end of the month. I think the only way to be truly successful is to keep in constant practice. Good luck with your writing in the New Year.

Well, I don't write for Associated Content, as I'm not a US citizen. I do write online though, for a site named Triond which accepts international members. My goal for this year is to write more and better quality articles and of course earn more money. I have a target to write 100 articles next year. I do not know if I can handle it because by that time I'll be busy with my new baby. But, I just have to be motivated and work hard if I want to be successful
• United States
23 Dec 09
I have signed up for Triond, but never written anything there yet. Maybe 2010 will be the year for that. With a new baby, you will certainly have your hands full, but you will also have plenty of ideas for articles with all the things it takes to raise a baby! Lots of topics to explore! Good luck with your writing in 2010!

What a question! Well, mine is, since I am new in MyLot, my goal this coming 2010 is to earn big in SFI and MyLot. REally big. I want to convince my mother that I can be rich making money online. I have already withdrawn earnings in SFI through the nearby ATM machine, not let's see if I can do good with MyLot like the way I did with SFI...
• United States
23 Dec 09
I don't know what SFI is? However, I will tell you that if you keep with it, you will earn money here on MyLot. I have cashed out plenty of times. You won't get rich, but you will make money. I think you might have to find more sites if you want to get rich from the Internet. Good luck with all your writing in the New Year!!

I would like to earn more money with my articles. I would also like to win another award this time the top 100 instead of the top 1000 that I have won two years in a row. I hear that you get a tshirt and some other goodies in the mail if you win the top one hundred reward. I really want that tshirt and the stuff that comes with it. hopefully I will win it this year.
