What Time Are You Planing To Wake Up On Christmas Morning?

Canada
December 20, 2009 8:22pm CST
My husband and I are leaving on a bus from Guelph to Toronto at 7 AM sharp, so we are going to be up by 6 AM, so we can be out the door. We are going to get to the terminal a few minutes early, but since it's only about three blocks away from here, we don't need to be in that much of a rush. All of our stuff will be packed in advance, and all that will be left for us will be to get up and go.

We all will go to the night Mass on Christmas night.Midnight mass will take atleast two and a half hours so it will be 3am when we reach home. Then probably we will take a ride to visit all the churches in the suburbs to see the cribs and Xmas tree and other decorations. At any cost it will be around 5 when we reach home. There after we will have a glass of steaming black coffee and get curled up under the covers. So one can imagine what time we will wake up,prolly at 11 or 12.Since it's a holiday we can sleep as long as we like tension-free.

Earlier then I usally do. My neice and nephew will be hear wanting their gifts with my sister and her husband. I got my nephew a couple of trains and a t-rex dinosaur and my neice a movie and a c.d. by Hanna Montata and a doll from the movie High School Musical. I hope they both like the presents I bought them.

Probably about 8 or 9:00am, the kids will probably be up before us so we'll have to beat them to the tree. Last year my wife had to work on Christmas Day and the kids got up at 4:00am and opened all their gifts. My wife cried the whole time she was getting ready for work, we will not be repeating that again.

I am definitely planning to wake up late but of course whatever time my son wakes up I wake up automatically. We usually go home late already on Christmas day from my in-laws so we usually wake up around 8am. But who knows, maybe it will change or may be it will not. Christmas days are hectic to us so we really need to sleep to have our energy for the day.

I will probably be up about 7 or so because today I was just invited to christmas breakfast with my grandson's family so that will be very nice. My son and I are looking forward to it.

I love Christmas morning! My children are all grown (youngest is 20) and 3 of the 4 will be here for Christmas. We will probably sleep until 8 or 9 o'clock. We will warm up pre-prepared breakfast items and go downstairs to open gifts. The breakfast items are all finger-type items so we will eat and open gifts at the same time. I really miss the days when the children would wake us up extremely early, excited to see what Santa had brought!

Even late into my 30s it is hard for me to sleep on Christmas Eve! The excitement (when a child it was presents... today it is being with friends/family) is just too great to sleep. What we have done is to allow everyone to have their 'private time' with their families in the morning and then get together later in the afternoon. I am assuming when the sun comes up I will be up with it! Thanks Zelo

Well, I'd like to stay in bed till about 9am really since I am working the late shift but, because I couldn't persuade my husband to celebrate Christmas on an earlier date, I guess I'll have to be up around 7am to go and fetch my mum and make sure we can open gifts and eat lunch before I leave at around 12.45pm

You will laugh at this one. No matter what, one of my sons tends to try and have us all up and at the tree by 5am or earlier if he can get us there. He doesn't care about what he got so much as to learning what he got or being able to rip the wrapping paper off of the gifts. He is such a funny kid. This year however, I hope we don't disappoint them, we went light on the gifts this year. With the economy tanking the way it did, the lose of our business and only recently finding additional work, it has been tough on us.

Have a great trip and enjoy well. Many happy Christmas for your family. I will get up at 5 AM and other family members will get up at 6 AM. By then coffee will be made. Things are arranged. My guests will start coming only in the afternoon. So plenty of time to prepare breakfast, lunch and getting ready to receive guests.

I have no set time that I am getting up, but you can bet it won't be at 6 AM!! I am planning to sleep as long as I want before getting up to make my way to my daughter's house to spend the day and exchange gifts and have dinner. I am not sure how long I will be there, but imagine most of the day.

We set a time last year that the kids couldn't open presents until 8am. We used to let them open presents whenever they were waking up but it started to get too much especially when they were starting to get up and want to open their gifts around 2 am and we just got done putting them under the tree. There were a lot of people telling us that we should put them on a time that way we could get some sleep but I thought that was "rude" because I know how exciting Christmas day can be especially as a kid but after those two mornings of them waking us up at 2 and then again at 4 am I decided it was okay to set a time limit..they don't seem to mind and I think it makes the susoense even better then LOL
