Normally, at this time of the year, when we are given their 13th month pay and Christmas bonus, we do not only buy gifts for people we care for. We also spend some amount to buy some stuffs for ourselves. A friend of mine working in a big company here in the Philippines actually received his 25th month pay. Yup! It's like receiving your 13th month pay but 12 month-salary bigger than that. He will reward himself with a trip to Japan where he will be spending Christmas and New Year. I wanted to reward myself with a new mobile phone but I decided to keep the money instead. I intend to use it for something more important. Besides, my mobile phone is still in mint condition. I have set aside a small amount of money though so I could buy myself a new pair of rubber shoes instead. What did you spend your 13th month pay on? How about your Christmas bonus? What did you buy for yourself this Christmas?

Hi. I have not yet bought anything for myself this Christmas season. I would like to buy a formal bag but I'm having second thoughts. This is because I would like to save money for my professional accreditation fees in January 2010. So most likely, I will just save the money and spend it on more important expenditures.

I am on disability, as is my husband, so we don't usually get a Christmas bonus. As for what we did for ourselves this year, we bought some books and DVDs, and we're taking a vacation on Christmas morning. We are going to Toronto for a few days, to enjoy a little time away from everyone, and everything. LOL

Hi dolce_vita. My husband and I bought a wrought iron cage for our bird. The one that he is currently in is too small for him. The poor thing has been using it ever since we got him and that was over a year ago now. I figured it was time to upgrade his cage and fortunately for me my husband agreed! We ordered it a little late (about a week before Christmas) so we're still waiting for it to arrive (should be this Tuesday, yea!) As it costs a pretty penny we decided it would be a Christmas gift for the both of us...even if it is really for our bird. LOL Happy mylotting!

I bought myself some new socks, and some sandpaper and a wire brush that I need to finish a restoration project I have been working on...I didn't get a very big Christmas bonus, but the one I got was unexpected, so I guess anything is better than nothing LOL. I did spend it on things I can use though...

I spend more monney on christmas gifts than for myself :/ I also planned to buy the cellphone of my dreams. I don't have any fancy gadgets but that cellphone is what I was dreaming for half a year. I tried to save through mylot...but I need alot lol At least, the gifts that have been given away are appreciated so that makes me happy. If I had to learn that the gift I gave was going to go into a bin, I would be really sad.

Our employer seems to think that the 13th month pay and the Christmas bonus to be the same thing. Or I think our employer intends to consider them as both instead of distinguishing them from each other. (-_-") Anyway, if I do get a good amount of money this nearing holiday, I'd reward myself with something material, as usual. I think that hobby that I am currently interested. Clothes to improve my wardrobe, even though I don't have a wardrobe. But, like you, I would also like to set aside money in case something important happens. I already have a small amount stored in my account but, I really want to increase that. Anyway, whatever happens, I hope we all could be happy this coming holiday. (^_^ )

Naahh, i'm buying myself because there's no one that i think will give me the things that i wanted I don't know what cause it, but maybe it's because the "things" is a little bit expensives i never treat myself travelling, because when i do it, it means i go alone, so it's better for me to choose like gadget things, accessories or dress.. Now Christmas bonus is already ran out

I just bought a dress and a pair of wedges from my 13th month pay it is for our christmas party celebration. It's better to have some remembrance from our 13th month pay so that it could be memorable for us.
