I put mine up the day after Thanksgiving, too. I start decorating the house on the same day, so it takes all day long. The tree stays up until at least New Year's Day, too!

We decorate the house right after thanksgiving, but the tree doesn't go up until this week. We will have a family get together and tree trimming party. I usually take the tree and all christmas related decorations down on New years day..The snowmen sat up until it's time to put up the spring decorations.

I put mine up the saturday after thanksgiving and take it down on new years day...or right after that. I like leaving it up as long as possible...would leave it up all year if I could! LOL

We generally put ours up early December, however, we've been known in previous years to put it up mid November and keep it up until mid to late January!

When do we put up the Christmas tree? We don't. Several years ago, my wife and I were both busy to the point of being frantic. We did not get around to getting a tree until Christmas Eve. Then we could not find one that was decent. So we did without, and who would have thought? It did not hurt a bit. We now have several boxes of very carefully wrapped ornaments that have not been opened in at least five years. No young children in the house, and without them it is just not a big deal. When we lived in Montana we hiked into the woods and cut our own. The problem was finding one small enough to fit into the house.

I did the same with my family's tree- the dy after Thanksgiving. We have a fake tree- one we've been using for almost 10 years now, and it's prety easy to put up. Just putting on the lights are a hassle. w
