CALLER ID... answering calls or ignoring them.

When you receive a phone call and you look at the caller id, you don't recognize the number, do you just ignore it or still pick up and see who is it? I usually get alot of telemarketer calls and I hate picking up but I do anyways and tell them to take me off the list and stop calling me. For I'm not interesting what they got to offer. But still they continue to call. I heard you can sue for something like this. Does anyone know anything about this? It'll be nice to file a lawsuit for disturbance.

If it looks like a telemarketer, I make sure not to answer. Right now though, I don't really answer the phone. Nobody I really want to talk to.

awww.... I guess it's just that time where you just want to be left alone. Might as well just unplug the cord. I do do that at times.

We have caller ID and if it's a 1-800, which are usually soliciters, I ignore it! Sometimes I answer some phone number I don't know and if it turns out to be a telemarketer, I cut them off and say I'm not interested. Because sometime they babble on and on. I should know because I did it for a couple of months when I was younger LOL.

They can sure go on and on. Even when you tell them that you're not interesting, they still try to offer you something else. gosh....lol

I don't have caller ID, so I just have to answer the phone. I just moved to Idaho, and it's really stranges, the telemarketing calls here are all automated. It sucks because you can't request a machine to take you off their calling list.... I just hang up.

Actually, am sure even though it automated, you should listen to it because they should have a selection if you want to be remove from the list or not. I done it a few time with them and yet, it didn't work though. They still call...

I usually don't answer the phone anyway. Got a teenage girl in the house, so usually for her anyway. I can usually tell who's calling without looking, so I know when to answer. I used to be really good at it, could answer the phone(no caller id) and say hey john or whoever it was. Get lots of telemarketer calls as well, so irritating, and we have a private number...

Yeah... I'm can be like that at times. Especially when I know what we're going to do today and expecting who's calling. I would just tell my man, "It's for you, get it." and it really is. With teens in the house, they do get alot of calls and can be on the phone for hours. I guess teens these days just have so much to say and yet they see eachother everyday. It's crazy but true. lolz...

I usually ignore numbers I dont know. If it is important they can leave me a message and I can call them back.

yeah...I'm like that sometimes too. I usually just see if they leave me a message or not. If they do, I'll call back, if they don't. Let it be.

there are some numbers i recognise as telemarketing ones. i do ignore them but most of the time i am caught unawares. what if it is an important call and then i end up answering a 100 questions. i do hope there is some law that can put a stop to it.

I usually pick it up, buecause you never know if it could be important. If it is a telemarketer, I'm not usually the nicest to them and usually hang up if they try to keep me very long!

I usually just ignore it. I love having Caller ID. I got it a while back and it was awesome. Almost as good as moving to high speed internet. I screen my calls a lot. i hate talking on the phone in general, so i avoid calls from people I'd rather not talk to.

I answer the calls, if its a tele caller i'd tell them frankly i'm not interested, though i may get irritated aometimes.. Coz its thier job to put the word across about some product, and getting mad at them is not the only solution.

I dont usually answer the phone if i dont recognize the number. If that would be something important then the caller will just have to leave a message and you can ring them back.

I would just pick up and listen then hang up if I don't know who it is. If it's telemarketer, I would just say, "have a nice day."

I almost always answer the fone. My fone doesnt have a caller ID lol so I have no way of knowing who it is! (my home fone that is, on my mobile I have no telemarketers). The telemarketers always seem to call around dinenr time, when they know we will be in, if I am eating I will not normally answer it, but if we havnt quite started it yet I will.
