The only insurance I have is my provincial health insurance. Everything else is just a scam, in my view.

A scam? I've had a couple cars replaced and or repaired due to accidents that would have cost me a fortune without auto insurance. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

We have our auto and house insurance through the same company. We have a state run health insurance that goes on a sliding scale according to our income. Not the best insurance but all we can really afford at the time. We have no life insurance which I feel is the most important of all. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It seems there is an insurance for everything these days. I think if I took out all the insurances that I was offered I would be bankrupt. Some we have to have, like building insurance and home and contents, plus mortgage protection insurance we have to have. We also have to have the life insurance and then car insurance is required too so we have no choice in those and they all add up each month. I suppose when I think about it they are necessary, accidents and bad things happen unfortunately and its nice to know I am covered should anything happen. But sometimes it would be nice not to have to have them and be able to enjoy the money instead!

The only type of insurance I have is car insurance and health insurance. We rent the home that we are living in so I don't carry insurance here although I could carry renters and we neither my husband or I have life insurance although we should carry it especially since we are getting older and with my health issues. I think life, health and home owners insurance are good but I will never understand why car insurance is because you pay and pay every month so if you were to have any accident you would be covered but you still have to pay in so what happened to all of that money you have been paying in for many many years and also what if you have car insurance and never get into an accident what happens to that money then shouldn't you get it back at some point for being a safe driver??

in all insurance you dont get it back because it goes in the pool to pay for the people that do have the accidents, they are extremely expense can be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars if you seriously hurt somebody

I actually don't have personal health insurance. The thing is I'm an independent college student and I don't have the resources to shell out a couple hundred dollars on health insurance when I am required to pay $200 at my college to use their health facility. Thankfully its been fine and nothing major has happened but once I've graduated and I can get a great paying job I'm planning on getting it. Now I do have renters insurance because I'm required to and I do have a life insurance policy out and I think its somewhere around 15-20,000 dollars. The reason I have that is just in case something happens everything will be paid for and there is nothing to worry about plus its less than $100 a year. Now once I graduate I'll probably up it to 50-100k because then I'll really start having debt to pay and more things the money can be used for.

Right now I have house insurance, and it is fairly low cost and it covers everything in the house..The reason I have it is because it is necessary because of the medical equipment in the house..I don't have a car, so don't need that one, as for life insurance I don't have it yet, but am going to get it in the New Year, the only reason I am getting that is because if some thing happened to me, I want to make sure the lady I look after will have money for some one to continue to look after her on a one on one basis instead of a institute or some thing like that..

In my part of the US you are required to have car insurance of some sort to license you car. I have health insurance through work, same for life insurance, as well as some bought on our own. I have home owner insurance, required since I have a mortgage. I think they are necessary.

I have my OHIP Card (Ontario Health Insurance Plan for those non-Canadians out there), but we don't own a car, we don't own our residence, so there is no need to own much insurance.

I have very inexpensive car insurance. I wish I had rental, and life insurance but can't see where it is that important at this time. I think life insurance is important when you get up in age because you never know when you may come to the end of your life and it is nice to leave your kids with enough to atleast bury you much less take care of your affairs.

yep I wish that I could afford to do that too, and get life insurance but at my age and medical conditions I wouldn't get any.

Yes we have my friend but only from a traditional government health insurance. What I mean traditional is, if you miss a month of your monthly due you could not anymore enjoy the benefits on the whole year. Not unless you pay it in advance ( good for a year)..traditional in the since that it doesn't have maturity period. Yearly you have to pay it again...that's it.. Unlike some private Health insurance here, you have to pay for five years while enjoying the benefits as long as you never fail to pay your dues, may it be quarterly or annually for five years..that's it my friend... Thanks.. Mobhomier here...
