Bamboozled President

Pat Buchanan writes in "Shakedown In Copenhagen", "Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenari -- who is representing all of Africa here -- unveiled his proposal Wednesday for a system in which rich countries would provide money to poor ones to help deal with the effects of climate change. ..."Zenawi said he would accept $30 billion in the short term, rising to $100 billion by 2020. ... This was seen as a key concession by developing countries, which had previously spurned that figure ... as too low."There was a time when a U.S. diplomat would have burst out laughing after listening to a Third World con artist like this."But not the Obamaites. They are already ponying up."Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack just pledged $1 billion at Copenhagen to developing countries who preserve their forest."When you slice through the blather about marooned bears and melting ice caps, oceans rising and cities sinking, global warming is a racket and a crock. It is all about money and power."End game: enrichment and empowerment of global elites at the expense of Western peoples whose leaders have been bamboozled by con artists. Any thoughts? Has our, "smartest President ever," been bamboozled by con artists?

You are right. A large part of the foreign aid that the U.S. has been sending to these countries for decades ends up in the leaders bank accounts and does nothing to help the people in their countries. This will be just another and larger case of the same thing.

It's a shame that our government has such a cavalier attitude about our money. Thank you for responding.

You are right, we are being conned by the third world thugs demanding money to clean up their environment with no accountability. Add to this the powerful people pushing Global Warming, some who are out pushing green stock and green companies that they are invested in and will profit as more people invest in the companies. The whole thing is a con game and they are using the US Treasury to fund their scam.

I think many Americans are starting to wake up to what our government has been doing TO us. They're starting to realize the money Washington has been giving away is the tax payers money and they're starting to resent the cavalier attitude our government has about it, and not just on global warming. I hope more people start waking up.

I don't think these third world thugs have any intention of cleaning up their environment. Interesting that the people who push green stock are fine with making money for themselves, but seem to have a problem with others making a profit. I think about Chavez criticizing capitalist nations for being capitalist. Wonder where he thinks the money is going to come from if capitalism is destroyed.

"Banboozled?" I don't think so. Before his election Obama proclaimed himself a "citizen of the world," and his presidency so far has been all about transfering wealth from those who have it to those who do not. Why should this be any different? He will probably fleece the USA and spread our wealth around the world if he isn't stopped.

I don't think there's any probably to it. I think this is exactly what he is doing right now, fleecing the USA.
