Improve your life

In the last year I went through many struggles. Lots of drama, with friends and family and people in general. I lost someone who I thought was a good friend. I guess we just were not meant to be friends. The last few months my life has become 10 times happier. Mainly because I woke up one day and placed some ground rules for myself. I am gonna think positive! I am gonna find some good or a lesson in every event or happening! I am gonna appreciate what I do have! I am not gonna want so much that I don't have! I am going to see the good in everything and everyone! I guess to put it short, I decided to become a the glass is half full kinda girl. Since then my life truly has changed. I look back on this friendship and when I have bad thoughts about her and the things that happened I try to think of the good times. I think of the few things she taught me. Like she made me love the Christmas holiday. She listened to Christmas music the whole time it was on and I now do this also. The Christmas season brings me much more joy now. And she taught me how to better manage cleaning my house. She did some very dirty wrong things to me in the end. But I take it as a lesson. Everyone comes in your life for a reason, maybe for just a while or longer. And everything really does happen for a reason also. Do you live your life with your glass half empty or half full. If half empty are you willing to try living by these ground rules with me?

Lol three quarter full. Yes I don't think we could ever have it all the way full. Because we have to experience at least a little bad to know just how good the good really is.

Yes well said. Like I was saying we have to have the bad in our life too. It is how we accept it and learn from it that makes our lives happy or not.

A very good post and life plan. I like that you did not wait for New Year's Eve or New Year's Day to start your new plan. I do try this, most of the time, but it is so good to have a reminder that we should be positive all of the time. We cannot choose what happens to us, only how we respond to it.

Yes it sure is accepting what life throws at you. A quote I love which for the life of me I can't think of who it is by at the moment.............but I am gonna say it anyhow............ A successful man is one who makes a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him. I think it so expresses how we should try to turn everything into a lesson.

Yes, that is certainly the way to live life. Think positively and accept things as it happens and adjust as we continue to live. I used to think about life always on the negative side. I found out that by thinking positively and accepting each things with a positive mind has made me realize that life is good. So for the next year, I will surely think positive...

That's great. The more on the positive we are and the more we spread the more peaceful all can be.

It's good to hear that after all the dramas in life and after all the struggles you had in life in the previous year, you were able to survive and see the goodness of life. Normally, our lives are indeed like a wheel. Sometimes, we are on the top and sometimes we are down. We cannot help but accept this reality and live with it. Let us just go with the flow. Like you, I also had a lot of shortcomings in the previous years especially when I was still studying in a university. My father couldn't afford to pay all the payments at school which include my tuition fee, miscellaneous fee and hospital training fee (since I was studying nursing). Fortunately, I was an academic scholar so my tuition fee was for free. But, we still needed to pay for the miscellaneous and training fee which are more than two times higher than the tuition fee. It was difficult for me to always make promissory note every examination since first year college until I graduated. It was very stressful for me to think of this problem many times a year in the previous years. I used to cry because there were many times wherein I didn't eat because my money was not enough for me. It was indeed terrible but then I never gave up for I believe that in every struggle, there is always a success. And yes, as of now, I am beginning to feel that success I was looking for. And I believe that this coming new year, there will still be many doors that will open for me. I always live my life with a glass half full. And, I am always willing to look for better ways to improve the quality of our living.

Yes I think it is kinda like a good karma thing. If you just stick it out and do the right things than in the end good things will come back to you. I do hope this year is great for us both and that some of that good is shown back onto us.

Well that sure is a start. We all go through rough times. I think that those times really make us appreciate the good times in our life. Those not so great but good, decent times when we don't have much to complain about. The more we want the less happy we are, I have truly noticed that.

I personally always try to be a glass is half full kind of person because I think in the long run that makes you a more positive person and you have a lot less stress on yourself if you live your life that way. I have come to realize, however, that no matter how positive you try to be there are still times when it is nearly impossible for you to be positive about everything. I do still find myself stressing out over the most trivial of things, for example whenever we have financial difficulties going on, those are the times that I stress myself the most. I just need to not worry so much about money and I think that will help me to be a better person.
