Married People! Do Married People Really Start to Look Alike??

Do you think that married people start to look alike the longer they stay married?
Have you seen couples that you know, or family members who become similiar in appearance with time?

of course yeah..my boss/manager looks alike they are couple for almost 20 years..i think the first time i apply to their company, all i think they are just brother and sister but the truth was that they are husband and wife..my sister too who is wedded to her husband and now they look the same..the reason why they look alike due to everyday and everynight they are together so the tendency people will look at them one in face one in heart and in one in everthing.

...Hi there worldbestwriter, That is just the observation I have had with certain married couples. The more in synch they are, I think, the more they start to look alike. Then there's that thing where some men marry women who look like their mother or sister, so they start off looking alike. It is interesting to think about the dynamics of it all. Married people seem to start to look alike. After a while of being together, I think they tend to copy each other's mannerism and facial expressions. Hence, they start to resemble each other. That's why others around them think that they are starting to look the same.

...Hi berryliciousme, I tend to agree with you, it does not happen with all married people, but I do think as you infer, the longer they are together, there's that association brings about assimilation thing. Also, the more you see them together, the more they look alike, I think. Then there's a trend that some men have of marrying women who look like their mother or sister. Married people do start to look alike after a period of time. I have heard this and seen it and observed it among a few couples. I am not sure if this happens with everybody. But it surely hasn't happened with my parents. But I've seen it with a couple of people, they looked so similar after a few years. That's mostly I think, because they start identifying themselves so much, on a deeper level with each other, their attachment for their partners, takes a thought form, and that particular thought form brings changes in their faces. Our bodies often take the shape according to our thought pattern, and this is also one reason why married people start to look alike. It's not with everybody, but some of them.

as you state. Not everyone who gets married start to resemble each other. But there is something, probably on the order that you speak of, that causes some couples to start to physically look like each other. I also think that if the
individuals are in sync with each other, this seeming similiarity becomes greater. It is very interestring to me. Thanks for your comment. Take care.

mostly people will change after marriage in their behavior also including appearance,they put everything in the stomach and they does not care about the increasing body size,in my family i and my wife only,but now i am maintain g the shape of the body,but the age factor will change the body according to the age,have a nice day

...Hi yugasini, Isn't it interesting how people start to get heavier after they get married? As you say they tend to put everything into the stomach. I think one reason may be that the wife is trying to please the husband by cooking his favorite foods, and he is trying to please her by eating everything she cooks. The pounds are going to mount. The other thing could be contentment. I watch couples on television such as the Newlywed Game, if the husband is huge, the wife is usually almost the same size. So in that one respect, some couples really do start to look alike. Age does change the body as you state. Thanks so much for your comment. Take it easy.

No I do not think just because a couple has been married for a long time that they start looking alike. They may start acting a little alike or like more of the samething but that does not mean that they are now looking alike.

...Hi there happy, I really do not think, that everyone who marries start to resemble each other, or perhaps start to look alike after they have been married for a long time. But if you look at some couples, there are some apparent similarities in my opinion, not in all cases, but I think the long association with each other causes some, not all, couples to resemble each other. It is quite interesting. Again this is not an absolute, but a sometime occurance with some couples. Thanks very much for your comment. Take it easy.
