One time I went to spend the night at a friends house. I ended sleeping in the guest bedroom and it was awful! The bed was hard as a rock and very lumpy. I could hardly slept at all. I kept on tossing and turnning I was so uncomfortable. It was so stressful on my body to try and sleep in such bad conditions. Needless to say I never stayed at my friends again. I feel sorry for anyone who has to sleep on a bed like that. It's not fun for anybody. After sleeping on that bed I felt horrible the next morning!

Hi, tuchkersheri. How about just sleeping on a hard floor? I have done this for about 3 and a half months or so. I slept on a mattress pad with a sheet underneath it. And I have also slept in a bed with my cousin and she slept so wild and hard until I had almost fell out of the bed. I can't stand sleeping on the bed, it is very uncomfortable.

I couldn't help but laugh at your discussion.... Ha ha ha... I feel sorry for you, but yes, I've had similar experiences too... Not at friend's homes, but in lodges and guest houses and hotels. Most of the beds either would not be comfortable or once we had some bed bugs or something and also mosquitoes all night. All sorts of troubles in my travels. Yea, once I slept on a rocking bed, always scared when it would break.

I've slept on a banig (roughly a big handwoven mat), though it isn't really uncomfy. The worst bed I've slept on was a old bed with springs on it. I was in the province and my relatives let me sleep on that bed. I could really feel the springs on my back that I couldn't sleep for more than a few minutes.

I have two bad experiences of sleeping, one was that I slept on train deck, the other was there were a lot of mosquitoes around my bed once I took a hotel. Maybe our situation is different from yours, as you know, train is the major transform tool in China for long distance travel, it would spend about two days to take me from home to college. When I took this train, there was merely a little room for me to stand, in daytime it was endurable, but in night I couldn't help sleeping so I slept on the deck under chairs. Another time is that I took a hotel when I travel to a village, there was a river beside the hotel and that time was a hot summer. After one day's walk I felt very tired and felt asleep soon, but when I wake up I found my hands and arms were full of red spots, oh my God I was bit too severely.

Haha Dont even get me started. No offense to HK or China beds. I went there in the summer all the time when I was little. I slept in the bed in my house in China. It was one of those hard beds where they had NO matresses! NO MATRESSES! I got used to it after a while but let me tell you, it was super uncomfortable because I was so used to sleeping on comfy soft beds. But thats how they slept and I respect that. Another time was when we slept in a bed where we had to have a canopy over us because of the mosquitos. The bed was also overlapped with a blanket of hay. It was poking me the whole time I was sleeping. Haha its funny when I look back at those times. =] But also painful.

I have had to try to go to sleep in an uncomfortable bed many times before too when staying at someone else's house. I got up with my back hurting afterwards too. I hate that and I hate when you do not sleep well because of it too.

I NEED to have a bed be comfortable. I want to say ahh involuntarily and not want to get out. Memory foam works wonders for this.

The first thing i want to say is I'M a tall person. So my bed has been made taking my size into account.Whenever i go on a holiday i find most beds are small. This is a great discomfort to sound sleep.I also find it difficult to sleep in a new environ after what I'm used to.I'm with you when you say you had a hard time at your friend's place.

I spent money to get my kids a new bunk bed and have had to make sacrifices to do so. I have slep on a bed with a piece of plyboard under it for the last 2 yrs and can't afford a new one right now. It is very uncomfortable, as my husband is disabled with a bad back, so he tosses and turns, and it puts pressure on my back, because he ends up leaning into me. Then, I have to hold the weight of him and me togeather. OUCH! I would let your friend know how uncomfortable the bed is, as they don't sleep in it, so they probably don't know it hurts to sleep on it.

The floor probably would have been better for you. I wouldn't sleep in a bed like that neither. If the bed was like that I would have probably not have stayed the night. I would have been like family emergency or something. Or as a good friend I would have just told my friend what was going on.
