if you want an alternative to rice, pasta or couscous usually make a good alternative. or chickpeas are lovely. couscous works particularly well when you want a change from rice, because it absorbs a lot of flavour, so you can prepare it to taste however you like it. I usually use chicken stock, chilli and mix mustard seeds through to give a bit of texture.

A good alternative to rice is either bread, pasta or noodles. Try the wheat bread, it's a healthier alternative.

What about macarona? Or pasta in any shape/size/form? I think it's almost the same as rice in terms of its properties... Hope this helps. Happy holidays to you too.

Hi, I'm asian and I eat rice all the time. If you're looking for an alternative with more carbs then you can try substituting it with potato or corn. Most food with high carbs are processed food with starch and sugar.

From where I grew up, corn grits are the traditional staple food. It's more filling, aromatic, and cheaper than regular rice.

Wheat is a good alternative for rice. You can make chappattis and have them with potatoes. You can also try corn or rice noodles or pasta.

Hi, uchihaseymour. An alternative to rice would be macaroni or pasta. Noodles would be another one as well. Just pick what you choose that you will like out of these options.

There's a lot of alternatives to rice. Rice is basically a starchy, carb-food. There's all kinds of bread, pasta, potatoes, onions, corn and noodles.

How about potato or pastas? Both I think had a lot of carbo but protein wise, I am not able to advice you on. Have you tried brown rice before? They are good for health and I find them having different taste and texture from normal rice. Some people who have illness are recommended to have brown rice instead but because their taste and texture are different from brown rice, some people mixed 1 cup of normal rice with 1/2 cup of brown rice for a start to tryout the taste.

I think there are a lot of possible alternatives for rice if you don't like it. You can eat pasta and rootcrops as well. You can also eat bread. Those things I have mentioned are rich in carbohydrates just like rice. But for me, rice is really different. I love rice very much and I cannot have a complete meal without it.
