I don't think so. ANimals have been a part of our lives. Some of them are domesticated and we love them as pets. Sometimes I think if they have souls but really I can't convince myself they have souls.

That's a tricky question. Well, if you are buddhist then, yes, animals must have souls. But then I wouldn't like the idea that I was a fly in my past life because that would have meant that I was hovering around poo all my life. That's horrible.
