Parachutes! Wearing One on the Plane??

With all that is going on today, if they made them more compact and thinner, would you have a problem putting on and wearing a parachute on the plane? Forget the psychological thought process if you can, discuss it if you want, but would you be willing to wear the parachute, just in case? Instructions would be provided for use.

If parachutes were thinner and more compact I would wish to wear one. Then I would feel more secure in the event of an accident. If you can imagine two hundred parachutes coming down to the ground it would be an amazing but potentially dangerous sight. People might crash into one another. I don't feel as safe about flying as I used to. So far I have stayed alive after every flight I have been on. When I have been on planes at a lower height like in the Maldives I have seen some picturesque views, the reef and islands. Wow!

...Hi there max, I think if they were going to give you a choice whether to wear one on rhe plane or make it mandatory, the parachutes would have to be thinner. You are right, it would be dangerous. But a broken leg or arm is better than you know what. There would also be the plane wreckage landing and having to try to stay away from that. hi artistry,
till now i have not wear the parachute till now,i have seen parachutes in most pictures,when i have travelled on flights the crew does not impose to wear parachute,if it is compulsory i have to wear parachute,but it will be a new experience in wearing parachute,have a nice day

...Hi yugasini, No, up until now we have not been required to wear parachutes. It was just a thought I had. Don't know if we would ever have to do this. But I thought that if the plane was going down, if you have a parachute on, it would probably save your life if you jumped out before the plane crashed and it was over the ground and of course you would have to be away from where the plane crashed.
