the teacher might give a very difficult test, or the student doesnt understand the lesson. it may also be that the student crams, which is not effective. he may remember the lesson but only for a few hours. it is more effective to study every night. with tests or without tests. i do that with my grade 3 kid. we open our book and review it all, everynight.. around 5-10 minutes for those with no quizzes.

Most likely either cramming the night before the test or having anxiety while testing. I know these are the two things that I experience whenever I do bad on a test.

Probably because they didn't study their lessons and didn't pay attention in class as well. Cause, sometimes if you pay attention in class then studying is just like a review but you'd still get to remember some stuff during exam.

It can come down to really having a lack of confidence and sometimes a lack of time. You never know with each person when it comes to work and whatnot. Mostly, it is a confidence factor and if it's not there, then quite honestly you're not going to do too well no matter what test it is and what class it is for.

in my opinion, students do not believe in their self. Before the test they did not have time to rest, and they don't study at night because they are very tired after doing much things. When the examination comes, they look not concentration on their examination.

I think there are a number of different reasons that students fail exams. For one thing, a lot of people probably simply don't study enough. Some students try to cram all of the information they need to know into their heads the night before exams. That works for some people, but for others it really is kind of pointless. Sometimes students just have a heavy load of classes and have too many different things to keep up with. I know that as a student I've fallen behind because there were too many exams or too many things due right around the same time. I do think that lack of confidence is a problem for some students. Some people are naturally good at taking tests - they are able to focus and really think. Others get too anxious during exams and it makes it harder for them to concentrate, causing them to miss questions that they really know the answer to. I know that I've fallen into all of those categories at some point. I think the best thing that students can do is to start early and prepare as much as they can. That way they know the information and may be less anxious.

Probably the lack of time management skills. A lot of students cram last minute instead of study for 10-15 minutes a day, weeks before the test. Also, I'm sure a lot of students stay up late partying and whatnot..
