When going through my email tonight, it was brought to my attention that a MyLotter posted 27 discussions today and not one of them was more than a one line question, mostly of ridiculous topics like "What color are your shoes" for example..I think that this is a total waste of time..This person is obviously on a mission to make money but come on...Does this make sense to you?

There are a ton of people that do those sort of things and it irritates me to no end. I understand if you have a lot of discussions you want to post but first off make the discussions meaningful and knowing the color of my shoes isn't going to matter whatsoever. I do wonder if there were a ton of mylotters that responded because shame on them if they did. And secondly I don't like people that SPAM interests. I see some people post 4-5 discussions right in a row. Yes there are days that I post 4 discussions but they are all in different categories. You don't want to spam to the point that others aren't going to get any responses because you were greedy and for me if I see someone with more than 3, or if they have 3+ in a row, I REFUSE to respond to any of them NO MATTER what. Just ridiculous. And you're right... enough is enough. Something has to be done.

'What colour is this or that?' and 'What is your favourite this or that' are not discussions at all and are usually deleted because they are 'polls' which are a violation. If you see that type of discussion you can report by using the (!) button. By doing this we can point them out to those who delete and help keep myLot filled with quality discussions. It is best to avoid responding on them too because your time would be wasted. If this person is a friend then you can suggest that they stop posting them as they will be disappointed later when they are deleted. It makes no sense but it does just go to show how many users are unaware of how things work here - and that is sad because it is explained perfectly. Happy New Year!

Hi mysdianait ..Ya. youre right. They are polls and stupid polls at that...It seems like these past couple of days I'm doing nothing but complaining but suddenly all these little things annoy me!! I mean come on,,24 discussions in an hour?? Its just too stupid for words and I am going to start pointing it out. This is such a great site, just needs some weeding from what I can see...Happy, Healthy New Year to you also...J

'weeding' I love that! This is our playground but if it becomes overgrown with weeds there will be no more space to play! We must keep it clean and green with lots of spaces filled with fresh air!

Make sense: Not at all. I happen to just answer the really interesting discussions, simply because it's easier to contribute to that rather than something very asinine. I'm not sure if I actually did the same thing before, but I do recall that I really try to be genuine with my discussions. That way, the ball gets rolling and a lively discussion erupts. :) Don't you just love it when discussions freely flow because opinions are exchanged so naturally? :D Happy new year!

Yes, mylotters have to really watch it. Its just selfishness that makes people post such discussion. I also get mad at discussion that are not thoroughly plan with element of originality.

This has been going for a long time.Once I counted a member from the former USSR, started more than 50 one line discussions in a single session. Of course such kind of members do not stay in mylot for a long time, and they disappear as they come. I usually do not report about these kind of things, and some times these discussions are deleted and some times, they stay. What to do, in such kind of site, we have to tolerated such kind of people.

Hi rames..I know, I guess there isn't a lot we can do about it except ignore it. It just really agravates me because these people are not here for what the site is intended for but to earn a few cents. I hope MyLot recognizes this and pays them not enough to hold their interest for long. Some of the discussions I was talking about today were so childish it was as if a 6 year old was writing them. I'm not sure what kind of response this person is looking for and I wouldnt be surprised if they never even check back in on their discussions. Just post and post again..In my opinion, it shouldn't be allowed, but then who am I,,I guess!! Thans for taking the time to respond..J

i am a member for almost three years now and i can say that i seen already almost all those types, from nonsense discussions up to discussions that has drawn attentions and feud to other members. with people that starts discussion like what you mentioned yes they are up to make money but knowing how to do it right. yes you get earnings when you post but only the long post of almost four to five lines. one liner or chort ones does not qualify for earnings. he is just tiring himself for nothing. mylot does not pay for those kind of post. they make sure your post has sense and explains your perception clearly.

I think I had responded to one of those--favorite color. Maybe it has been deleted. I noticed my rank slipped back a little. Anyhow, I find things like that boring and probably will not respond in the future. I have also seen that interest spamming as someone else had mentioned.

I agree with you on this. I tend to get frustrated with MyLot for a while, just for this very reason. I like to engage in quality discussions. I don't care that my boots are brown or that the yours are red. I think there ought to be a mechanism that prevents duplicate discussions or monitors the quality of the discussions. Other than some human being, I do not know if it is really possible.

I've been here two years and it never stops. Someone thinks the number of posts is what they get paid for. If they'd just read the guidelines they'd realize it's the quality of the post that counts. Msdianit is right, this is our playground. It's up to us to help clean it up. Report'em or ignore'em.

Well, they should know you can't really make money fast here and posting stupid short things IS a waste of time, and that it may eventually get deleted? That is their loss and will suffer eventually and people won't even respond to their topics or discussions or whatever you want to call it, a topic should be considered and well thought out is my opinion, and then again most people just don't make sense.

Hi sulsisels, did the person respond to his vast number of responses on his vast number of discussions, or did he run more true to form and ignore all who responded? When they'll ever get the idea that they only make money by responding back and what on earth can one say back except pink is a nice colour for your shoes.

I found that most of the discussions in the mylot have low standard than earlier. This site becomes popular day by day.Which cause hundreds of money hungry people register in each day. They will degrade the real value of mylot by posting spam discussions. My interest in mylot is decrease in each day.I hope that our site administrator will find a solution for this serious problem.

It is for Management to clean the system and I am sure they must have deleted all of them. I do not go anywhere near them as even those answering such questions will be penalised!

Hi sulsisels. There are always gong to be people that try to manipulate the system, take an easy way out of things, and get paid for doing pretty much nothing. Unfortunately, they are also here on Mylot and all over the internet for that matter. It might appear that the people that create those short, seemingly senseless questions are these types but, who knows? I don't have a real problem with it myself because I come here for good topics and conversation. When I see those one-liners that have no substance and little if no meaning to them, I just do not respond. Obviously some people enjoy those questions because I see them all of the time and some have a lot of responses! I am just not one of them.

I try to start topics that I feel are worth while and will spark some good conversations as well. Sometimes mine are not that great but I try my best to make them good. I see it this way if you are friends with someone that is not really putting forth a great effort I would delete them from your friends lists. No sense in having a friend that will get taken off the site in a few and really you could waste a lot of time responding to them and than they have their discussions deletled. I know I learned the hard way a few months ago when I started responding to a few friends I had and I lost all my posts. It was so sad for me because I put in so much work! But know I know better if I see a topic that seems like spam at all I just go onto the next one! Take care and happy mylotting to you.

hello there! there wil always be members like that! haha i also have some friends who started tons of discussions in a day...but what i don't like is that when you respond to them, they are not commenting back! huh! if they are here to make money, well they should understand that that's not the right way in making money here... by the way, is she/he a new member? in my case. what i do is that i just off my notification for them... to spare my inbox from tons of new discussions from them...hehe happy new year!

It's total rubbish, but what is even more annoying is when they apend this discussion with, 'this is an interesting discussion.' No it's not! It's a complete travesty, and the next discussion they post, after the 27that have been deleted, will be one complaining about not earning any money and MyLot is a scam site. This, of course, will also go. I sometimes marvel that I share this earth with such idiots.
