Before, I usually left my phone turned on everytime I sleep. But now I always turned off my phone when I sleep at night. I heard that there is a minimal microwave radiation from cellular phones so its not adviceable to be close/near to it all the time. One effect of radiation is dielectric heating which affect the surface of the brain. I chose to turned off my phone not only for health concerns but also to maintain a good sleep at night. How about you?

I never turn my phone off not unless I change my sim to different one. I just want to be available to people who may need help in the middle of the night. My mentality about this is if I we're out and I need some help, I would want a friend to have their cellphone turned on. So, I would do the same. I would leave it on for emergency purposes.

Hi Sublime03, I agree with your opinion and always keep my cellphone on. I like to be reachable by my relatives and friends, although sometimes i wake up by the nuisance calls in the midnight...

Good day to you maria1081, yes theres a minimal microwave radiation create when the phone is turned on. Then like what you said it's not go for us because it may gently our sensitive part of body likd brain. As I've seen a video to my friend. They conduct a experiment regarding cellular phone. They put four cellular phone on square position and put a corn in the middle of it and missed call the four phones. After a little bit seconds the corn pop. With this experiment it concludes the radition of the phone. Now, I still turn on my phone but everytime I go to sleep, I always put it on a far distance to avoid radition.

oh i also saw that video and there's no video editting im sure. i just cant recall if its 3 or 4 mobile phones. when they put it on top of the table and in the middle of it is the pop corn seed and they began ringing the phones simultaneously, the corn suddenly popped up! imagine the reactions of your brain nerves when using one.

If you kept it in silent mode how will you know the exact time of the emergency? When you read the message it might be too late to respond to the emergency. What do you think?

Prevention is way better than curing. If you dont believe it you dont have to turn off your phone, you can just place it not so near in your head.

Honestly, I can't live without my mobile phone. And for that reason alone I'd rather leave my mobile open than to shut it off. But I must admit there are case studies that shows harmful effects of mobile radiation to one's health. However, may it be fact or fictitious i'd still have my mobile open at night. After all the sense of having a mobile phone is to use it.

i used to turn it OFF at night but when my wife started to work in singapore, i always leave it turned ON. she even do the same thing there because if for some emergency reasons that i need to phone her or vice versa, we make sure that line is always available. sadly, i need to place it on top of my head so i can easily reach it. with the radiation, a simple use of headset will always be a big help to prevent severe damage on your brain. good day to you maria1081. btw i saw your profile and learned that you are from tarlac. i have relatives there in paniqui.

Hello. I'm from the city proper and I dont know a lot in Paniqui. I also heard that cellphone is not good when place near a growing child, because the brain is still developing and the radiation might disrupt the development. Thank you for your comment and happy new year!

I try to keep my phone as far away as possible but still in hands reach as I have bad eyes and no alarm clock, so I need some kind of electronic near me. However, I am very aware of the radiation of these electrical devices and try my best to stay away from them as much as possible.

Hi Maria, I use the mobile as an alarm clock so it is turned on in the bedroom at night but there is no signal there so I presume it is safe, anyway it's not right by me. When I don't need the alarm it's left in a different room anyway.

I always turn my phone off too. I truly believe that cell phones are not really good for us. When I'm on the phone to long my head starts to hurt on the side that the phone is on my ear. So now I only use it with the speaker on. I have heard of a man who used a cell phone for 20 years on the same ear and is not battling brain cancer. Also if a guy keeps his cellphone in his pocket of his pants he could end up with a low sperm count. There are to many things that are happening to people all due to the radiation that the phone is projecting.

Yeah, it is the fact what ur telling; it is really very harmful but not only at nighttime but also during the day and it is advised that cell phones are not kept near to the heart (means - in shirt's pocket). The radiation is very harmful for human body and it is advised to keep cell phone far when ur at home so that the radiation does not effect. So, everyone for a good health try to keep ur cellphone far as much as possible and also try to minimize d use as much as u can...

No, I don't turn off my cell phone at night when I go to sleep. But I tend to keep it on silent mode with vibration off and away from my bed so that I am not affected by the electromagnetic radiation since then while I wake up the other day, I can quickly review who had called me so then I could get in touch with them as soon as possible. But it is certainly important to get good quality of sleep. If you don't get into the deeper phases of sleep your body cannot repair itself. The repair process occurs at night while the body is resting. This is when the cells rejuvenate. This repair process only happens in the deeper phases of sleep, so good quality sleep is vital to our health. And don't forget all the wireless technology...like Wi-Fi, wireless internet access, GPS devices, etc. They all produce harmful radiation, too.

My cell phone is the only phone I have. It is pretty much the only way of getting hold of me. I leave it on day and night. Occasionally I will turn it off for an hour or two just to have a quiet break. I have certain situations in my family that requires me to be available 24-7 so I even sleep with it on!

I have always turned off my cell phone at night. Mine mostly is for personal reasons. If it were to ring in the middle of the night i would not want someone else in the house to answer it. Also for reasons like you say, i want to get a good nights sleep too. But i do worry if theres an emergency in the middle of the night no one would be able to contact me.

I usually sleep with my phone turned on, but lately I'm receiving some spam messages in early hours in the morning, so I might begin sleeping with it turned off. I really hate phone spam, they should at least choose another schedule.

when i was in school my science teacher daily teach us that before sleeping always switch off your cell phone because cell phones are really harmful for us as they relese some harmfull radiations that cause illness and disabiliy in our human body , though the process is very slow but the result is very disgusting and i always followed her but one incident made me to change the routine when my friends needed me at night and i my phone was switch off. from that day i never off the cell.
