Greetings to all, Most people think Psalm 23 is great and might say it is their favorite. So, except for Psalm 23, what Psalm or Psalms is/are your favorites and why? For me Psalm 1 for it's simplicity and beauty in bringing out the difference between the godly and ungodly. Psalm 22- the crucifixion psalm Psalm 10- Which I quoted out loud just over 10 years ago during some trouble I was having. Psalm 116--I read this every January 25, marking the night I came to Christ.

First of all I have to say 23 is one of my top Favorites as it was my Grandmother's favorite Psalm and I read it often to her. I learn to love Psalm 51 I learn from my Kings James Bible that King David wrote this Psalm when the prophet Nathan come to him due to Bathsheba I remember that I also have sin and want God to forgive me too. Psalms 51:10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. I also love Psalms 118 especially this verse:24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. And it is something I can be thankful for as long as I live.

I just noticed that I just say in my comment that I read that Psalm 23 often to my Grandmother, she is no longer with us, she is in heaven now. I miss her very much tho. I just realized that I spoke of her as if she was alive, she is tho to me in my heart.

Psalm 28 is my favorite of all. God used it to bring me back to Him when I had been off doing my own thing. We used to sing a song that started with those words, "Unto thee, O God, do I lift up my soul.." I was driving alone and that came to mind. I started to sing it but when I got to where it says, "O, my God, I trust in thee..." I couldn't sing it because I knew I wasn't trusting in Him. That led to much soul searching and a return to His loving care.

Wow, that is a tough question to answer. So much of Jesus's teachings and words came from the book of Psalms its almost impossible to select just one chapter that is the best. My mother in law gave me the book "living with psalms daily" about two years ago. Of course you were suppose to only read part of it every day for a year but I was enamored by it and read it in no time flat. I hate to be rude and answer a question with a question but since you said psalms 1 is your favorite, do you think this means the ungodly and sinners will not be there on the day of resurrection? It reminds me of 1 Peter 4:18 although its commonly connected to Proverbs 11:31.

Greetings EvanHunter. Psalm one means the ungodly will have no "footing", "not a leg to stand on," in the house of God nor in the judgment. It sure is a neat Psalm.

I like all the book of Psalms. I just had a conversation with my sister and she took me to Psalm 121. So today I am mediating on that particular Psalm. In Psalm 121 It is about The Lord Guarding His people. ..Look up to the hills, but where does my help come from?

I would have to say that Psalm 22 is my favorite. It describes the crucifixion of our lord and savior and it was written 1000 years before he was born. I ask all non-believers to step up to the plate and explain this one for me.

The book of Psalm has been a wonderful book, mostly written by David, the man after God's heart who is coming back to reign as a king in the new millennium. I like Psalm 121 which said I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. It's quite unfortunate that putting ones trust in men can fail us and it is only God that cannot fail. He is the only one that can make a way for us. Link us to divine connection and do the impossible for us. So whenever am depressed or worried either financially or material or health wise, I recite this chapter and believe that my God is there to help me out. He has been wonderful

Psalm 82: It shows the structure of the divine council and the sons of GOD, When read in Hebrew it also shows there are other gods who serve the ONE TRUE GOD.

This is a hard question for me to answer... how much time do you have?! LOL I think I love the whole book of Psalms. Every time I am discouraged, the Psalms are always encouraging and strengthening. Lately I have been memorizing one chapter a week, and so far I have memorized most of my favorite Psalms... Psalm 1, 23, 34, 37, 42, 46, 63, 91, 103 and more. It's great to have them memorized. Whenever you want you can remember the whole thing whether or not you have a Bible in front of you!

I like Psalm 1 because other than Psalm 23, it was used the most in bible study.

Psalm 27 ministers to me a lot. It brings me hope and comfort during trials. It leads me to His presence. This chapter is very intimate.

I love Psalm 42.. which is about wishing to be near to God.. there's even a worship song about the first verse which I really love... "As a deer thirsts for streams of water, so I thirst for you, God" (Psalm 42:1) I also love Psalm 16, 31, and 46...

My family has been claiming Psalm 91:9-16 these last few weeks. It is so comforting to know that the Lord is our protection. It is just full of one promise after another. The fact that God has put his angels in charge of me is amazing. It's a life verse everyone can use.
