The Essence Of Good Life ...in good faith and following

The modern times mark little care for mutual love and compassion. In our hectic schedule of living most human values are lost in the midst of turmoil and confusion. It is time we restore those noble gestures which governed us. Searching in all earnestness for the divine power that partakes in all our daily activities. It is in Him that we should pinpoint our thoughts and actions if at all we should receive more comfort and solace. Spirituality essentially is the need of the hour, for the pitfalls of societal norms are engrossing our lives in a dramatic and undesirable way. Invoking the true SPIRIT that resides within each of us and directing our energies for mass welfare is sure to gain rich dividends.

I couldn't agree with you more on this. Even modern science in the form of quantum physics is recognizing that we have an effect on our world. Stuff that great teachers have been teaching for millennia are proving to be true. Because of our worldly attachments, many of us are now finding ourselves faces with an inner "battle", but as a Zen practitioner I see this inner turmoil as a positive thing because I am recognizing more and more that something needs to be done. I read last year that it has been proved that when a group of 11 people practised meditation in a city, violent crime reduced significantly. And then whatever city they visited, it had the same effect. An indication to me, that we are all connected on much more than just a physical level and that whatever religion or belief we hold, we indeed invoke the true spirit that reside in one and all of us, if we will just learn to contact these inner energies. - Derek

Realizing and understanding the real YOU that lies within should be our goals in life. The Hindu dictums AHAM BRAHMASMI and TATVAMASI hold worldly truths.. The real self, it lies within in each of us .....

Yes, that is my goal in life. It may take me the rest of my life, or happen in an instant from now. We never know when such realization is going to occur, but it will occur for each of us... - Derek

It is true that the Spiritual has become less formal than it has been in the past. * Formal spirituality involves going to the Church on Sunday if Christian, other spiritual building if other religion, so on so forth. This kind of worship is visible, but was it genuine? That question can be answered only in the hearts of the flock, sometimes that answer is not bright. * We've now become less formal in Spiritual matters. Small groups, maybe families, groups of friends are finding sacred meaning in places that mean perhaps little to nothing to the person next to you. It is more private, less guided maybe. * The Bible is still very much sold. The Bible is still very much read in people's homes. And trees, being God's creations, do listen.

The air of sanctity observed in religious festivities portray in abundance the true spirit of peace and tranquility especially of the inner ones.

Hi sukumar, Thank you for an excellent discussion and I completely agree with you. Spirituality, not religion is what is needed. There is far too much division in religion. It is action that is needed, not talk. Blessings.

I totally agree with you. I don't believe in God but i am a spiritual person. Everyday i try and make time to just sit in a quite corner and take the positive energy and drive the negative energies out. Helps me control my anger and also keeps me healthy..... Its nice...

I think we must all keep our heads and chins up also and work hard towards our goals also. I think we must be kind to one another and try to live our life right as well to be able to live a good life.

No matter what we believe it, to me, always boils down to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".That is the spirit from God that we should always remember.

That is very true. I think my faith has guided me through many rough waters, inspired me when I was discouraged and given me courage. Love of our fellow humans is what makes life worth living and He provides us a moral compass to make our lives complete and help us deal with adversity.

I do agree with you. In our quest for status and ‘stuff’ we have forgotten where our real value lies; our spirit. We rush too much and we endeavour to control results and we inevitably become disappointed; even when we receive our heart’s desire we are left feeling empty. Why? It is because our true beauty is within us and we already have all we need right now. If only we would stop just long enough to connect with the Divine each day and share our smiles and our love not forgetting to salute the Divine in all that we encounter every day we would feel more joyful and fulfilled; wouldn’t that change the world?

Hello myu friend sukumar794 Ji, WE Indians believe that 'SOUL IS GOD', One sould try and search in oneself. One need not step out from one's home in search of Almighty. One can find in one's soul. May God bless You and have a great time.

Hello, First of all I would like to say that I understood a little of what you've said up there. But of course, you write elegant english. Spirituality to me is 100% surrender to divinity. If you have that you are a true believer. Spirituality brings elevated but humble lifestyle. A true believer will essentially have a few features. First of all, no material event will drive him into either in elation or depression. He will always have a mental state beyond that. Secondly, he should be clever enough to adhere to the concept that nothing that he observes is going to stay forever. He will stay among material things yet untouched and unperturbed by them. thirdly, it will make him simple like a child of 5 years, very transparent and a good human being. Take care God bless you

There is a lot of confusion in my time! I don't really believe in spirts, but I do believe in God. It's kind of weird of all what i believe in but ALL people are different and I like it. I would hate to have someone be the same as me.
