Do You prefer Using mouse or the Keyboard?

By way of habit, I prefer to use keyboard more than the mouse. It has helped me work faster with MS office packages prior to Office 2007. Even on IE, Google Chrome and Firefox I use a good number of keyboard shortcuts. Same with Photoshop. In MS Word, I still love CTRL+shift+W for underlining and change font sizes using CTRL+ [ and CTRL+ ]. Can someone tell me how can I get back all the predefined keyboard shortcuts from previous versions in Word 2007. If I have several windows opened on desktop, how can I manipulate (move) a particular window using only the keyboard? I shall be delighted, if you share your experiences too. Thank you

keyboard is definitely faster than mouse when speaking of application softwares like u mentioned MS word,ie etc but u should also know all the shortcuts.which is really difficult for all the softwares.I use both keyboard and mouse equally when i m a pumped up and fresh and when i get all lazy and tired of sitting in front of computer and go back on my comfortable chair i take keyboard along.

The problem is not with the keyboard shortcuts, or their complexities (or lack of it!). The problem is with the software makers -- they dream of their own keyboard combinations, when they can't find anything else to confuse the users! Some call it marketing gimmick and protecting user base; others call it I-will-do-as-I-please attitude type anarchy. Finally, we poor souls end up giving up learning keyboard shortcuts, because we can't get any more confused. I am sure somebody will start a movement to standardize shortcuts -- just as CTRL + C, V, X have become -- and hopefully(!?) different software companies will adhere to them. Until then the supremacy of the great MICE must prevail! Thank you and have a nice day!

Well now one can make there own user defined shortcuts like i use mostly in almost every software. So thats not really an issue as i said whatever one is use to.i just set my own shortcuts for os and all other softwares also.

Hi, vjagra. I prefer to use the keyboard and a mouse. It is very much easier to navigate than it is when I just will go wireless. I like the ability to move my hands freely and faster on a keyboard.

I have heard about touch screen monitors where you navigate by pointing your fingers. I have not seen any such thing myself, but when they become popular, we probably will have to say good bye to dear mice and hammering keys-on-board!! Have a nice day!

There are situations, when either the mouse or the keyboard suddenly stop functioning. So if you are adept at both, it helps a lot. Working with louse is definitely most easy. Thanks.

I tend to use a lot of the keyboard shortcuts. It takes a lot less time to utilize these things, then it would by using the mouse. Well that's to be expected, considering its a shortcut. Regardless, I use my keyboard whenever I can as a measure to save time.

Hi vjagra! Yeah, I also prefer using keyboard, if you know what the shortcuts are you can definitely speed up your work. Besides, if your both hands are on keyboard than it is a waste of time moving one of your hands to the mouse. I know the time waste is minimal, but if you do it all the time than you will certainly lose some time during long period. Great question! Happy mylotting and take care!

hello vjagra, I love using keyboard too. It's very fast and easy to do something. plus, I don't have to move my wrist much, but sometimes I got problem using TAB button. lol. Well, for changing between windows use Alt+TAB.
